Without a doubt, Cris Nolan is one of the best filmmakers of the century. He has created several great films. How do you rank the films?

1. The Dark Knight
2. Inception
3. Batman Begins
4. The Prestige
5. Memento
6. Insomnia
7. Following

* The rankings of 1-3 really don't matter as much, IMO. They're all great at what they do, all expertly crafted, it basically comes down to what type of film I perfer. But IMO, they're all so close to the ranks of being the greatest of Nolan's oeuvre that I might as well just have them all tie for #1.

wow. This is kinda hard. I'm a bit torn. Inception, Dark Knight and Memento all kinda brilliant. I guess it comes down to personal preference and which had the greater impact on me after viewing.

1. Dark Knight
2. Inception
3. Memento
4. Batman Begins
5. Prestige
6. Insomnia

Still have never seen The Following.

I feel The Prestige is his absolute masterpeice. The structure is brilliant in terms of how is follows the acts of a magic trick and the relationship between Jackman and Bale in the movie is so strong. I also love the cinematography. I think it was Nolan himself who said "It's a period peice, that doesn't feel like a period peice", and I couldn't agree more.

Following, in my opinion, is such a close second. All of Nolan's film making elements are all here from storyline to dialogue to structure. It's his most underrated work that I believe more people need to see and/or rewatch.

All of his movies are quality, but the only movie of his that I don't like is Insomnia. I bought it, watched it, didn't like it, and tried watching it again but just don't love it as I do like the rest of his movies. There are elements of it thatI can appreciate from a filmmaking standpoint, but it's just so sub-par compared to his others.

The Dark Knight is definitely my number one, I'd probably rank it as my favorite movie. The hardest for me was trying to arrange the order of 2-4. Memento is a film that ranked in my top 20, the last time I worked out a list of my top 100 films. But it's been a while since I last did that, and though I'd need to watch it again to know for sure, I have a feeling Inception might rank higher than Memento now.

And last time I did that top 100 list, both The Prestige and Batman Begins were also in the top 50, though I think The Prestige is just a notch above Batman Begins. My bottom two might not be quite on the same level as my top five, but both Following and Insomnia are still very good films. Nolan has never made a bad movie.
