When we see footage in 3 days, we should probably know by then. It's how we got confirmation of Thor's composer(Boyle's name in the end credits of the Thor trailer). Patience is a virtue. Shouldn't be long now.

We need a memorable cinematic theme for this iconic character...not background orchestra. Giacchino will accomplish that, and there are others who will create good music, just not memorable.

Horner would be great too though.

I'm with the chorus line for Michael Giacchino. The man knows how to write a great, iconic melody. Five seconds of that man theme from Up is enough to make my girlfriend cry.

I agree I hope the rumors are true about Giachinno. I agree abot Cap. needing a march or memorable theme. I believe he (if Giachinno is hired) will deliver.

Now the problem with Horner is he plagiarises himself in pretty much every score (re)writes for the past 30 or so years. Now I know that's part of his style, but I don't want to think of his past scores while watching or listening to TFA:CA. If they do go for Horner hopefully he won't copy his past scores 85% of the score. Yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah right.

The official site has the cast & crew listing at the bottom. But no composer is confirmed, just the music supervisor right now.

"I have always been a fan of the Captain America character - but at this moment I am not scoring the film."

The smart money would be on Horner since he's the composer that Johnston has worked with the most.

Alan Menken is king of making memorable musical cues.

I hope he not only makes the USO song but its somehow incorporated to the rest of the score and whoever they hire for composer is able to play around with it throughout the movie.

Giacchino has had enough encounters with Disney that I could say its within possibility that he could get the gig as composer.

I don't think it's likely that Giacchino has been confirmed to compose honestly. Why would they spend oodles on a guy like him and then get Menken to compose one song for the USO show. If Giacchino was composing they would just get him to compose the song.

They'll probably get a lesser known composer like they did with Thor and Iron Man.

What are you basing on that it would cost oodles on him? Patrick Doyle has done plenty of well known movies, and he' doing Thor, and John Debney who did Iron Man 2 is also a well known composer.

I think considering IMDB has him listed with 'Post production' next to him, it's for reals. They can only put in that 'post prod' stuff highlighted in red if it's entered by a high up IMDB editor, so I think it's a good lead.

Never in that post did I say Giacchino has been confirmed.

I simply stated that its possible because he's worked on many Disney projects. So him being a candidate isn't completely out of question.

Studios like using what are basic "in-house" artist whether it be directors, producer, or composers.
