I gotta say, I'm surprised by this news. I saw the news on yahoo like a half an hour ago and was just stunned. This just came out of nowhere. I wasn't expecting anything for a couple more weeks or so. I didn't expect them to go with Snyder.

But I love this choice. One thing is for sure, we are going to get KICK ASS action that we have been missing from the Superman films that we never got. We can all rest easy knowing that we'll see some great action. I think with Nolan godfathering it, with Jonah and Goyer's script, Snyder will know what to do. I think he might have to tone down his visual style a little less but keep the slo mo with some of his powers. Like the bullets bouncing off of him and maybe a moment of him flying or fighting.

Goddammit, 2012 is gonna be better than 2011.

this is good news. i am just worried about a zod storyline. everyopne and mom was expectin the fan choice of brainiac lex and metallo for first film. now we are bringing back zod no no no. oh well, at least we are guaranteed a physical supes.

I enjoyed 300, even though it was a little over the top....but I really liked WATCHMEN, which was a great interpretation of the comic....so I think this Superman movie will be pretty darn good.

Yeah, it sucks. In 2009 I was bummed out, because all the superhero movies I was most looking forward to weren't coming out until 2011. Now it's 2010, and I now find myself looking forward to the superhero movies of 2012 even more than the ones from 2011 I was previously anticipating so much.

Yeah he's doing really well and with The Town showed he can do action as well as drama.

I'm cool with Snyder he seems like a perfectly resonable & capable director. He tends to have a good eye for casting, tells his stories well & visually he helps make films look dramatic & epic.

I think this is a good appointment.

No kidding. The next two years are gonna be awesome. Thor, GL, X-Men, Cap, and TF3 (if you're into that sort of thing) in 2011 and Supes, Avengers and Batman 3 in 2012. Not a horrible time to be a comics fan.
