Default Dino Crisis and Onimusha revivals

Quote:
When speaking with IGN, Christian Svensson, Capcom's VP of strategic planning and business development explained that while it's been a while since we saw samurai action-games from the Onimusha series, as well as dinosaurs in space from Dino Crisis, that doesn't mean that the franchises are dead.

When speaking about Onimusha, he said “For the time being I think it’s in percolate mode, that is to say, it’s not forgotten internally, there are discussions that go on, but I don’t think anyone has sort has come up with the ‘that’s it’ idea of how to get the game back up to 3 or 4 million units,”

“While Onimusha 1 and Onimusha 2 are among our more successful titles, Onimusha 3 and Onimusha: Dawn of Dreams, not so much,”

He also mentioned that given it's deep roots in japanese cultures, Onimusha is somewhat of a hard sell to western audiences.

On the subject of Dino Crisis, he said that the series' focus on tank controls and pre-rendered backgrounds has made into a, fittingly enough, dinosaur when compared to more modern games.

“There are discussions, Dino Crisis comes up from time to time, but there isn’t any burning desire from R&D or the business side to light that franchise back up again,” he added. “Until there’s an internal champion with something incredible, things just sort of sit there.”
At least Capcom is still thinking about those two franchises, which means they will see the light of day sooner or later.

Wait a minute. Wasn't there going to be an Onimusha movie? What happened to it?

I'd rather play another Dino Crisis, tank controls and all over another Resident Evil... more so if it's anything like 5.
