Charlize Theron considered for Sarah Essen?

Hey, guys,

Not sure if this has been posted, but I thought you'd all be interested.

I know I don't ever post here and I don't claim to be an insider, but I'm a screenwriter and also a member of Trackingb.com, which is an insider site for aspiring writers looking to break into the business. The owner of the site is heavily tied into the entertainment business and always catches wind of upcoming news even before it hits the net.

The latest section he posted is entitled, "MAKING THE ROUNDS" and it is a section concerning all news expected to hit everywhere in coming weeks from all the major studios. The third excerpt under WB is...

"Charlize Theron is in consideration for the role of "Detective Sarah Essen" in director Christopher Nolan's upcoming THE DARK KNIGHT RISES."

Also, the next excerpt reads...

"Kacie Thomas and Vera Farmiga are both in contention for the role of 'Julie Madison' for THE DARK KNIGHT RISES."

Again, trackingb.com is a private login site which you need to pay and use a password for in order to gain access. That's all the info posted for this movie though.

The rumor is a few days old and was also reported on various movie sites like slashfilm.com

While I agree with you, there is a tendency in Hollywood to cast female actors that are decades younger than the characters they play. I don't know why and I can't say I like that. But because of that, the chances that Dern could be considered are very small.

Theron would be good in any number of female roles, but I hope Sarah Essen isn't in BATMAN 3.

Any female lead other than Selina Kyle will be a major dissapointment for me.

I still prefer Marion Cottilard or Rachael Weisz (sp?).
Charlene wouldn't even be my third choice for Selina/Catwoman.

JMO.

No Sarah Essen.
