the things that folk hate about it, willie, shortround, too dark, whatever...i love about it. it's truly a great action/adventure movie, and in the indy pantheon has it;'s own unique flavour(unlike LC and KOTCS), that is what goes a long way, for me. |

I agree. If you've seen the first, you know what to expect. It's not amazing by any means, but it is its father's son.

Hate? There's been a few people I've seen hate on it, but on average, the majority of people liked it. I think most agree it doesn't live up to the first film, but that's not really hating

People rag on it, but it's actually a very moving and powerful film. Much better than that boring piece of crap Citizen Kane that everyone pretends to like.

The Expendables. - It was 60+ on Rottentomatoes when it was first released, which I thought was reasonable.. but it has dropped to 40+ ever since.

Angel Heart. Still the best horror thriller of the 1980s' for me.

Gojira- Most Americans point towards Cooper and Schoedsack's King Kong as the greatest monster movie ever made, but I feel that Honda's movie is better, aside from a technical standpoint.
Blade Runner- While still being considered one of the greatest movies ever made, I still don't think the movie gets enough credit, particularly the Final Cut.

I recommend watching the original French movie with Louis De Funes to see how it's done (if you can find it that is
)

You mean the Whammy Burger scene. I love Falling Down. I wish I had a VCR so I could watch it or at least find it on DVD.

A Perfect World. I never really see it mentioned much when people talk about Clint Eastwoods films. Its not his best but I thought it was a good movie.
Enemy Mine. A really interesting sci fi film of the 80's that people like but never seems to get as much focus as Wolfgang Petersons other films like Never Ending Story, Das Boot, etc. Night of The Living Dead 1990. A remake of a horror classic that I really enjoyed. Stayed pretty faithful but made some logical updates for the times. The Dawn of The Dead remake is fresher in peoples minds but NOTLD 90 came first and really had some good acting by Tony Todd and the makeup was good. Hollywoodland. Ben Affleck did a better job as George Reeves than I expected. |
