This poll isn't even close. Ock is in the clear lead.

Doctor Octopus. He was the most developed, and the most successful at being sympathetic as Raimi intended.

Green Goblin just came off as cartoony. He has nothing interesting to say, nor did he really feel like he put much at risk nor did I really feel sympathetic for me.
Sandman felt like a parody of a Raimi Spider-Man villain and changed in ways that are completely unnecessary and harmed the franchise.
Harry Osborn wasn't really given any interesting plans or what have you.
Venom was critically underdeveloped and underused.

Molina was brilliant. He showed it all. Depth, emotion, mad scientist traits, menacing villainy, witty humor, and sheer class all around.

He was the most visually pleasing villain of the trilogy, too, IMO.

As I said, I loved ALL the Villains in the films, but Molina just tops the cake. As you said, his depth is just so fantastic and pulls off the witty humor so well.

I think Green Goblin and Venom had opposite problems, at least in one aspect.
Whereas Green Goblin was scarier with his mask off, Venom was scarier with his face on. Ironic, isn't it?

Speaking of Goblin, Dafoe's performance kicked ass.

I think he hams it up too much when he is wearing the Green Goblin mask, making him come off as a cartoon villain.

Eh, to each his own I guess. I loved his performance overall.

Btw, wasn't Nicholas Cage in the running to play Norman?

Why was Venom's face constantly being pulled back in Spider-Man 3? It's really a shame that he didn't get to talk much with his face on.

That's one of my biggest complaints with Raimi. He is always taking off the superhero's mask. And in this case it is the villain's mask. Just leave the dam mask on! I know who is under there!

Raimi is not a fan of masks. He takes every opportunity to peel them back and show the face underneath.

Doc Ock for me. Molina did an amazing job.

Dafoe a close second.

I think he did that in the sequels (with the villains) in response to the complaints of Willem Dafoe being scarier without his mask on.

Raimi always liked to have the mask off because he felt that if you can see the person behind the mask, then you're able to identify with them a bit more than if they were some faceless character. As much as I love the series, that's one of the things I didn't like. 3 moments stick out:

-In Spider-man 2 when he stops the train. I realize what Raimi was going for with this scene, but you're telling me that someone on that train wouldn't have been a douche and revealed his identity or taken a pic of him without the mask?
-Spider-man 3 during the Spidey appreciation speech moment when he stands there without his mask for a minute or so and says," They love me!" Everyone can see him. All they'd have to do is look up.
-The final battle in Spider-man 3. Just about everyone is visable for the TV cameras there. Harry Osborn is without a mask,Venom is constantly peeling back the symbiote to reveal Eddie's face and Spidey has his masked so severely torn that you can pretty guess he's Peter Parker.

Agreed on all points. He's the best villain of the trilogy and a darn good villain in general really. After that I'd go Green Goblin, New Goblin, Sandman and Venom.
