I didn't really like the artificially intelligent, evil, devils-on-his-shoulder aspect of his tentacles, but otherwise Doc Ock rules.

I went with Ock. Actually my favorite Spidey villain from his rogue gallery is the Green Goblin. However, the movie interpretation of GG didn't live up to my expectations and therefore I'd probably put him second. The Ock charatcer they devised for the movie was terrific. Molina played him very well and overall he was a great villain.

Green Goblin had the potential to be the best in the trilogy. He was still good, just not better than Doc Ock.

Because picking a villain who really just had a cameo in the trilogy is kinda weird.

Ock.
I liked him so much that I wouldn't mind his absence in the reboot. I got what I wanted with Ock.

It's sad really. I am not a big fan of Venom but he is undoubtedly one of Spidey's most notorious foes and a huge fan favorite. How the hell do you take such a historic/iconic figure, introduce him (not even by name BTW) and then kill him off with less than 15 minutes of screen time?

Because many found him cool or just liked him, it's as if Boba Fett had much of a role in the original Star Wars Trilogy, yet many consider him one of their favourite characters, even thos that didn't read or watch any expanded universe material.

This. Venom is an iconic villain and even if he had never done anything drastic to Spidey as what GG and Ock has done, people do like the villain and so do I. What we get with Venom in Spider-Man 3 was tragic.

But when asking about the favorite villain in the trilogy, not as your preferred Spidey villain as a whole(which can also be for what villain they find the coolest. Hell, Pyro was damn cool in The Last Stand, but the movie still sucked), but just the trilogy, picking Venom seems like you preferred a five-minute villain with no development. At least Sandman was developed.

AMEN. Well,I am a big fan of Venom, but even if I wasn't I would still fully agree. Honestly, sometimes I wonder if Raimi did that on purpose. If he did, then I lost alot of respect for him.

There are people that will always say Raimi did learn to respect the villain, but that excuse just goes to the toilet when you see how Venom was portrayed. No way can you assume that Raimi gained some respect of the character when he was cheaply performed and died within five minutes of his timeframe. He didn't even get 15 minutes of fame, lol.

Of course, the majority seem to agree that Raimi never liked Venom before, during or after shooting and that he deliberately screwed over the character...and in a final attempt to make sure Venom was never used again in his franchise, blew the symbiote and Eddie Brock to kingdom come with no trace of either to be found(despite the symbiote sample in the lab). As I've said,if that's true then it's despicable. Forget for a moment that Venom is one of Spidey's top foes, and clearly his most popular. You don't screw over a character or a film intentionally! But that's what he "seemed" to do. I put the word "seemed" in quotes because I can't be 100% sure, but it certainly looked that way. Hey,it's no secret that I hate the Vulture. But...if I were making a film with him in it,I'd do my hardest to make a good movie and do him justice.
As far as I know,Raimi has always avoided the question once Spider-man 3 was released. He'd never admit to intentionally screwing over Venom, but I wonder his true feelings on the subject. I'd LOVE to sit down with him and find out the truth.

Dafoe gave a great performance but too bad his costume was so terrible. Doc Ock was pitch perfect. And all of the villains in Spidey 3 were just poor.

Wait, what? Sandman was "just poor"? ALP, you said GG's costume was terrible but yet Sandman's costume was perfect to a freaking T! Sure, his storyline was awful, but Sandman's attire was perfect in a comic-inspired way. I would say Sandman's was the best villain in that area, while Doc Ock was obviously the best with his story in S-M 2.

LOL, yeah, Sandman had a perfect costume. I'll give him that. It's hard to screw up giving someone a striped shirt and khaki pants

Sandman was poor because he served little purpose besides being a lame George Lucas-esque retcon that added absolutely nothing to the mythos. In the end he aided in the murder of Uncle Ben but he's sorry so he just drifts off in the wind and that's it. The end

I'm giving Raimi credit for keeping that striped shirt and khaki pants on Sandman since he created a whole new villain in the form of New Goblin. He(Raimi) could have easily given Flint Marko a pink shirt and bright pink booty shorts.

Sure, Sandman's storyline was dull and unnecessary, but I'm just saying that Sandman's costume was perfect since you mentioned GG's costume being awful.

Storywise and development wise, Doc Ock wins the cake and Harry Osborn is a far away second, even if the New Goblin persona was pathetic. Green Goblin, even with how badass Dafoe was, wasn't developed fully enough and Sandman and Venom were just dull.

Costume/attire wise, Sandman wins with Doc Ock at second and Green Goblin, Venom and New Goblin all bunch together at the very end.

Although he was screwed over in so many ways, his costume is the one advantage I'd give to Venom. When he was on screen,he looked awesome! I especially love the webbing on the suit and the symbiote itself once it became disconnected from Brock. The look of the character was one of the few things they got right.
