Jeff Bridges or Dennis Quaid.

Wouldn't be surprised if Scott Glenn winds up being cast either since Snyder directed him in Sucker Punch.

I don't like Costner as an actor.

Thats the nicest way that I've ever put it.

I could see Treat Williams as either Pa Kent or Perry White.

Treat Williams would be great for the soft spoken nurturing type Jonathan Kent. Another actor would have more of a John Schnieder approach would be Bruce Greenwood:

Way too young and badass. He's still kicking ass and taking names as Captain Pike.

OT: his Batman voice is great on Young Justice

"Birthright" was the only Superman interpretation with younger Kents, mainly done that way to promote Smallville. Smallville did it because they wanted to target a younger teen audience in accord with the network and it's programming (The WB/CW).

Ma and Pa Kent have been more like grandparent figures in all the other interpretations and origins, even the current ones:

Precrisis

Postcrisis

Superman Secret Origins

Superman The Animated Series (DCAU)

I was going to mention Richard Gere but I would love either of your choices especially the Dude.

I think Greenwood would be great as Johnathan Kent . The Guy has played everything from JFK to Pike, and he has an amazing Range.

He's been my choice for about nearly 10 years now. Greenwood would be good too tho. And Susan Sarandon for Martha.

Come on what's wrong with Pa Kent kicking some butt I'd like to think a lot of Clark's actual personality comes from seeing his father's dynamic, that of a very kind and nuturing man while at the same time being strong enough to stand up and make a difference when the need arises. I can't see an old frail man making giving off that vibe.

Pa Kent isn't supposed to be an old gruff bulldog type... that's Perry White.

Pa Kent is more like loving/nuturing grandfather. Geoff Johns got it right

Trying to make the Kents kickass or badass generally has bad results:

If they go with really old Pa Kent, Robert Duvall is my choice. All - American, great voice, presence and a great actor.

Jonathan Kent, probably my favorite character (other than Supes) of the Superman mythos...

I have to agree with Daybreak, to me, Clark is the way he is because of Jonathan; he raised him to be a manŽs man, to be compassionate, nurturing, yet strong and determined, I always saw Jonathan Kent as being a human, old version of Clark Kent (tho, is the other way around, right?).

For a while I wanted Marting Sheen for JK, but that ship has sailed.

Dennis Quaid would be just perfect to me; tho I never thought of Treat Williams, and I loved him in "Everwood", IŽd be really happy with him, and after seing that picture of Kurt Russell, heŽd be pretty good too.

Polux.

Yeah, what's up with that? He's the reason I don't want Bale as Bond, ever since I saw Brolin's Bond screentest for Octopussy.

PS: No, I want Bale for Bond just fine.

You're wrong on Post-Crisis(Man Of Steel) and STAS, the images you're using are from when Clark is already a grown adult. In both of those adaptations they are still relatively young when they find the baby Kal-El. And as for the recent DC animated movies, we haven't seen Superman's origins in those so there's no way of knowing, but Ma Kent in Superman: Doomsday doesn't SEEM to be so old that she would've already been middle-aged or elderly at the time they found Kal-El.
