The teaser for a movie like this should punch you in the face, and that doesnt even have to include big FX money-shots.

Could just be from a sequence where a determined Superman cleverly disarms a thug or something.
I'd rather want a clever and enthralling teaser than a montage of FX.

I'm in total agreement with everyone.

I'm not expecting a tease of a teaser like TDKR. I'm expecting something a lot more thirst quenching

Plus... It's Snyder.

If my reaction to the trailer isn't to slowly exhale a held in breath and exclaim 'Wow that was cool' then he's not living up to his own standards!

i'm expecting, just like everybody else here, that the teaser trailer will come out during TDKR.

What i want is more in the lines of the first tease trailer for Superman Returns. Something to let everybody know that something epic is coming out soon!

When I look at that trailer, I don't get the feeling of something epic coming out soon. More like trying to tug on the strings of nostalgia that some people have for the Reeve film(s).

WB was banking on that nostalgia and Singer's good will due to his X-Men films and it kinda blew up in their faces.

I can't say it enough, but they gotta look at Star Trek as far as marketing goes.

back when it first come out, it felt epic. agreed, nostalgia, but it worked with this teaser. Obviously the movie didn't turn out to be what we all expected it to be, but when i first saw that teaser trailer, you get goosebumps. So, the aftermath, the teaser is just now sad

It definitively increased the anticipation level.

The teaser should be in fact just that.

Superman punching someone in the face with some epic theme...

It will prove to everyone, this is a new Sups and he is a BA.

There are several possible films that the studio is considering featuring the teaser too.

Is it contingent if the release date changes, or is WB sticking to summer 2012 for the teaser debut? I'm thinking if it's not The Dark Knight Rises, maybe The Amazing Spider-Man, The Avengers or Men in Black 3. It doesn't have to be one of WB's own films, it could be a rival studio film with similar crossover appeal.

I think it's too early for the studio to do a March debut for Man of Steel (unless they push it back to December) on Wrath of the Titans either.

Neither did I, thought it was abit bland, The first trailer for the film though was epic.

So anyone think WB's could attach a teaser to Avengers or can they not with it been from a rival studio?

i thought the official trailer sucked for SR. Now, that was nostalgic. The teaser trailer for SR did a good job in teasing the movie, and it worked.

The first trailer sucked, it was a bit on the corny side. The only thing that came out of it was 'WWWRRROOOONNNNGGGG"

The second trailer was just pure action action

The international trailer was the best (the eye shot)

Whatever the case maybe, Singer destroyed Superman for the new generation

I wasn't a fan of any of the trailers either to be honest. They weren't horrible or anything they were just so-so.

I just think that this movie needs an actual good teaser and then trailer. Speaking from purely a business point of view the full trailer better be close to jaw dropping because Supes is on thin ice with the public as it is. The first full trailer should feature just really big cool scene and should explicitly show what the tone and intent of the film is.

For instance when you watched the first Star Trek trailer you knew that it "wasn't your father's Star Trek." You knew by the set and costume designs that this was something familiar but vastly different from the original in intent and tone. And you have to make the movie look appealing while conveying that of course.

Man Of Steel should show us in 2 minutes that it is something new to the series and that it has it's own tone and intent and looks good. I don't think that it can fail at those things and have good chance of being successful. I didn't mind the GL trailer but obviously I was in the minority so I'll just say that they can't release another GL type trailer that has a mixed reception, it has to be good.

They need to make a teaser that will appeal to the audience who otherwise wouldn't give a damn if a Superman film was coming out or not. Not so much focus on those who'd see it anyway plus whatever nostalgia they may have for Reeve, the score, or Jor-El's speech.

Can't go wrong with CGI owls in slomo during a thunderstorm.

Exactly fanboy teasers are pointless because that audience is already locked up.

Although not always the preference but studios tend to attach their trailers to movies of rival studios.
I mean look at the TDKR proloque. Attached to IMAX print of MI-4 which is a PAramount movie.

The first trailer for SPider-man 4 was attached to Captain America f i'm not mistaken.

Edit : Though i WB might opt go with another movie then Avengers.

As of now i'm jst going with the first teaser being released with THe Dark KNight Rises and the first full trailer being released with Hobbit.

Dark Shadows ( release date in the states May 11th 2012 ) might also be a good candidate.

I'd love the MOS teaser to open with the famous Williams score, a few shots of Krypton exploding, then a voice-over from Marlon Brando, "they are a great people Kal-El, they only lack the light to show them th-"

Ok ok, I'm kidding.

As a teaser, I guess it's purpose will be to give us a very brief glimpse at what we can expect from the final product. A few shots of Metropolis, Smallville, the main characters, and hopefully end with a shot of Superman in costume. Whether this is a lingering shot, or one of him flying, I don't mind.

Would be nice to hear him speak too. I'm interested in hearing what kind of accent and voice Cavill is going to use when playing Superman.

I hope it is attatched to TDKR because I want the assosiations between the two to be played up.

I know it's Snyder's baby, but while I love his work, his name's not got as much weight as Nolan's.

The more it looks to the GA like MOS is going to be Superman's BB equivelant, the better

If Warner Bros. is smart, they'll definitely attach the trailer with TDKR. Plus, given how much pull that Nolan has, along with him being reported to being pleased with the footage that he has seen thus far of MOS, I would think that he'd want a project that he's heavily associated with attached to his own film in regards to promotion.

Since they're not, I pretty much doubt we will see a teaser at TDKR.
