i like everything i see except for Mystique. i was hoping for a new look for her. i don't dig her scaly look. i always thought of her as being a sexy blue girl, not some freaky faced chick.

everything else looks solid though.

It's still a prequel, so Mystique has to look the same. But, I think that's a fair assessment. Though I've always been a fan of the scales as well as Nightcrawler's scars.

I agree. I mean I like Mike Mayhew's artwork just fine, but in live action, something like this...

And its not like they disfigure her, she still looks smokin' hot.

I'm not so sure that I like the look on Jennifer Lawrence, though. She's got too high of a forehead and too wide of a face to pull it off.

I also don't like how they changed the shade of blue, or her eyes.

However, those are just fanboy nitpicks. Hopefully it will look better onscreen.

Looks like Vaughn is turning this film into Layer Cake as far as locals, hopefully he feels comfortable in this world and gives us a true vaughn xmen
this might be the one to watch this summer.

when it comes to superheros:
Marvel films will be marvel films, not amazing but not crappy.
DC films will be (very big) hit or (very very big) miss.

Fox films depend on the director. And Vaughn has made some gems.

But see, I've always been a big supporter of this movie. Ever since it was announced that Matthew Vaughan was coming onboard, and the subsequent announcements of McAvoy, Fassbender, Byrne, Jones, Bacon, Platt (have we heard anything on his character yet?), I've been looking forward to this film.

I just hope the final product doesn't look rushed. I think you're wrong about Marvel making only so-so films. Iron Man was terrific, as was Incredible Hulk (the extended cut, anyways). Thor and Captain America look like they could be the best comic book movies ever. And The Avengers sounds promising, as well.

You're definitely right about DC, though.

well if it's a straight prequel then i can kind of understand, but i still wish they would've done something different. maybe tone the scales down or give her some weird patterns (ala Neytiri from Avatar). she just doesn't look sexy anymore. i'd argue that unless she's nekked she never really looks sexy with those scales on her face...

i get that they don't want her to look like a bland blue chick, but she definitely doesn't look SMOKING hot with those scales on her face. Rose Byrne looks hot in that photo, Mystique just looks weird........unless scaly faces are what you're into.

I get what you're saying. Remember that she's a young girl in this, so I don't think it's necessary she looks drop dead sexy. Though Lawrence without the make-up looks smashing.

Beast looks kinda corny to me. I actually liked how Kelsey Grammer looked in X3. I'll still would see this movie when it comes out in the summer.

I'll admit it... I loved the original X-Men films mainly due to Wolverine being my favorite character being brought to life (in case you couldn't tell by my avatar

).

But I'm still pumped about this film. Not all of the characters excite me, but the possible storyline of being set against the Cuban missle crisis really intrigues me.

We're getting Beast, Mystique, Prof. X, Magneto and some other classic characters. Very anxious to see Bacon's take on Shaw. Here's hoping to X4 someday in the future.
