Director Stark
Okay. I understand a lot of people hate Civil War. But would anyone want to see Stark become director of SHIELD without all the muss and fuss of Civil War? Maybe if Fury dies and Hill decides he's more qualified.
Point being, instead of recasting both RDJ and Samuel L Jackson someday, they just make Stark director of SHIELD, develop a drinking problem, etc. Great fodder for continued Iron Man films after Phase 3.

We'll have to see how he develops in IM3, but... I don't think the Downey Stark has the maturity - or the interest - for something like that.
