My hope for Magneto's helmet...

I hope we see the scene where Magneto creates his helmet.
But what I really want to see, is when he is creating his helmet, he does it all with his powers, and never touches it with his hands, all the way to the point where he floats it up onto his head.
I think that would be pretty neat.
Total geek moment, and probably didn't deserve it's own thread, so mods, delete/move as needed.

I'd like some explanation for how he knows it will block telepathy.

How does he know it will? What material/technology does he use?

Why is he wearing it in the pictures if he's on the same team as Professor X?

I'd guess it's for a fight scene between them, but he still has the uniform on. The helmet itself looks wicked, but it just looks way too big for him. It looks like it's wobbling around.

Presumably he's wearing it to block either Xavier or Emma Frost, so at that point he must be at odds with one or both of them. I don't think it looks too big, it will clearly be padded so it sits on the head without clanking about and it needs to be big enough to see out of...

I hope the beach fight is not the final one. X3 had the big fight on and island....

so hopefully this time, the final fight will be in a different place, where Magneto will use his classic costume.

as cool as a scene like that sounds....

I doubt he creates it himself, he probably discovers that a certain type of (or mixture of) metal(s) have to ability to block telepathy.... then finds a helmet made of that metal

I think it's gray because it's unfinished. When he has his final red/purple get up, the helmet will match.

One explanation could be he and possible Charles create the helmet to keep Emma Frost out of his head. That seems like the logical reason, considering the Hellfire Club are going to be the villains of the piece.

Well, brainwaves are electromagnetic....

From what I can glean from places online...

Brainwaves (the energy produced by the brain's activity - the brain works on electrical impulses sent along nerves) can be alpha, beta, delta or theta waves, which are different frequencies. Thoughts are associated with beta waves, while the 'waking dream state' (and extrasensory perception) is linked to theta waves...both sound like possibilities for when psychic powers are operational.

And within the frequency range of alpha waves is a frequency that is the same as that of the earth's electromagnetic field (Schumann Resonance).

The helmet would need to shield certain frequencies.

Lead is used to shield against gamma rays and X-rays because it is dense enough to stop the waves passing through. Magneto's helmet somehow stops beta or theta waves, I would suggest.

if they consulted a scientist, the director/producers could find a plausible pseudo-scientific explanation...

Maybe similar technology to Cerebro? He just does some tweaking, or basing tech in his helmet on Cerebro...I wouldn't mind if thats how he came up with it...

I have thought this since I saw the picture, Xavier may even help make it to battle Emma because Magneto would be the most powerful mutant on the team and one Emma would likely go straight for. Then later Magneto refines the helmet so it can block out Cerebro as well.
