The films that I need to experience again are the old Hammer horror films. Those were the equivalent of candy to me when I was a little kid. I'll always remember the Christopher Lee Dracula with Peter Cushing as Van Helsing. I distinctly remember The Mummy too. Among many other ones that I watched. I started with the Universal ones and then remembering renting any movie relating to them out of the library that I could find, which became the Hammer ones. Phantom of the Opera, Creature from the Black Lagoon, And The Wolfman were my favorites from Universal. Then Phantom of the Opera with Michael Gough. I also remember one with Claude Rains.

And these are the best type of movies. Where they just don't feel like someone on screen, but easily someone you could know. If not someone you could know, you find traits in these people you would find in people that you know.

I think Dracula is and maybe Creature from the Black Lagoon. Some of the Mummy sequels might be there too.

I paid 50.00 by ordering the region free uk blu rays at the time of release. It's a shame I've never seen it in stores though. |

I haven't seen it in stores anywhere either. I got it for the full $120 or however much it originally was back in October.

Has anyone seen "Mama" yet?
I was wondering if it's worth checking out in the theater.

I'd like to check it out. I don't think it will be hitting theaters for a while here.

Was thinking about seeing it but then spoiled myself over at the bluray.com forums. Someone posted a pic of Mama from one of the TV spots. The shot of her is so fast they must have went frame by frame to get the screencap. Most likely going to wait to Netflix this one.

As much as I like GDT and the stuff he slaps his name on, I despise ghost stories so I'll probably pass.

She looks pretty creepy. I will probably check it out, but maybe not in the theater. Thanks for the pic, Figs.

Saw Mama and it's pretty good. It reminds me a lot from the movie The Orphanage.
And The Last Stand was a great return for Arnuld!

![]() ![]() Really didn't care for it at all. The most cliche characters and story I've seen on the big screen in a long time. I mean Arnold was all right, I'm like the next guy and I've really liked him for most of my life, but the film around him was pretty bad and unoriginal imo. (He deserves better than that.) Especially considering how awesome the director Korean movies are. Another one who seems to have lost his way in Hollywood (see the dude who directed the wonderful "Lives of Others" and then the awful "The Tourist.") But as usual to each their own.
