![]() Here's my version of Thor's costume. I hope you like it. It's kind of a compilation of different styles. I personally like the armor pant look. I'm in the process of getting a better cape that's a little more royal looking. [[/IMG] ![]() [/IMG]

Yeah that outfit looks cool, I could really see him being an Asgardian.

Thanks for the compliments. A great costume for Ren Faires, Cons, Halloween, scaring the neighbor kids, etc. Yeah TikkiEXX, that's me. My Viking heritage says my ancestors were boatsmen, so the guns are for rowing.
I still think that Thor's arms should be bare and the pants armored. As far as sweating and chaffing...maybe the armor is Uru metal that magically soothes the thighs.

You have a very good point about the Uru metal potentially being "magically soothing..
I can buy it

I don't know why people always see the chainmail leggings and assume they'd be chaffing like mad and hard on the skin, as though it's impossible for them to be wearing anything under them. When you see a knight in a suit of armour, you don't think he'd naked underneath it like Arthur in Ghosts n' Ghouls, do you?
![]() Anyway, great costume Asgardian. I personally prefer the helmet-wings being metal, but lookin' badass regardless.

You mean knights aren't naked under their armor? Where's the fun in that?
![]() I still prefer armored arms and blue pants, so the movie costume is closer to what I would've done anyway. Metal pants just seem weird to me. Can't shake it.

I like the metal wings better too and I'm glad they used the black pants in the film costume,it works really well in my opinion.

Asgardian you'd fit right in with the Renaissance Faire Viking clan the Alewulfs that I belong to. lol
I made my own Chaine Maile, I work in leather (when I have it), I need to learn Metal working on an Anvil. I know some but not all. lol I'm curious how many Thor costume I'll see in Faire pictures this year. lol

Sounds like a blast, Vartha. You made your own chain maile? Man, that had to have taken up a bit of your time. I studded the leather tunic and bracers I have, and used leather in a few places on my boots. I'm not an expert, but it seems to have worked out OK. I'm assuming the Alewulfs drink lots of ale.

The easiest way is to buy a small Awl from Xacto blades and poke holes through the leather. Leather sewing machines are very expensive. Here's a few things I've made from leather. ![]() ![]() ![]() and the Ring maile I was telling Asgardian about

Thanks Longest, thinking of a Thor movie layout right now as you might have seen. lol
There aren't enough official Shots of the Warriors Three close enough to use on a poster, so I'm going to draw them on the poster. I've waited long enough.

LongestDay, that Thor costume is AWESOME. Nice work on it...you nailed it! That is a must for the Thor movie premiere.
Vartha, that maile has the "extreme cool" ranking, and your leather skill is a talent I hope to achieve. |
