I saw this film. I liked it. Didn't love it. Though I did love the animation. I thought the idea was pretty cool, Jude Law made for a great villain, but the story just felt a bit too conventional. Though some points for Jack Frost's origins.
I am a little surprised that it didn't do better opening weekend. Hopefully it will have legs. I wouldn't mind seeing where they would take the concept next. |

32.6 mil = 35.6 mil by Tuesday (7 day) which puts it at a little under, but not quite. But still it's looking to at least pull in 120 mil which would show that Arthur Christmas was a fluke.
"There is the potential that this plays better as we get closer to the holidays," Wible said. "For whatever reason, people are not interested in seeing this film right now, and films tend to decay after their initial weekend of release, but this may have an atypical nature in terms of when people finally start going to it." - As do all Christmas films, none of them seem to have a 'typical' run.

It's good stuff. I was shocked to see Alec Baldwin as the voice of North. Really surprised me.

I saw it today and I thought that it was good, but could have been much better. IMO, the movie could have used a little more butt kicking fight scenes and a little less sappy "believe and do not be afraid" stuff with the kids.

Loved this movie! Number 1 animated movie this year, followed closely by Wreck-It Ralph with ParaNorman coming in at third.

I really enjoyed this movie. The vocal performances were spot on, the story was conventional but fun, and it had a nice emotional core to it.
The animation was great.

Why can't Dreamworks have merchandises or maybe plush toys for Rise of the Guardians characters?
I would love to buy a Jack Frost and Sandman plush toys. Dreamworks should learn marketing skills from Pixar. |
