Default Cast the Marvel Universe

This is based on a thread started by ComicChick, "Who would you cast in the DC Universe.

I thought it sounded fun, so why not ask the same about Marvel?

Post your casting choices for any marvel character, doesn't matter if they have a movie in the works, have already been in a movie, or will never have a movie at all.
Who are you choices for playing Marvel characters?

My pick for a younger Daredevil. I think he's a pretty good ringer for Murdock and he could pull off the acting and action/fighting.

X-Men Casting Part 3

Casting from Parts 1 & 2 (you can check way back in the other thread for my reasons for these picks... they were all from months ago)
Tahmoh Penikett as Cyclops
Stephen Moyer as Wolverine
Milla Jovovich as Jean Grey
Mark Ruffalo as Beast (this was made before he was Hulk)
Alexis Bledel as Kitty Pryde
Alan Tudyk as Nightcrawler
Julie Benz as Emma Frost
Liam Neeson as Magneto

New Stuff

Zach Gilford as Cannonball

Early on in Friday Night Lights, Gilford played a shy, Southern teenager who is thrown into the role of leading a team of very talented people. Over the course of the show, he not only developed more personality, but also grew into the role of leader. He matured. He sometimes questioned authority, but in the end, he could be counted on as someone to lead the troops into battle. Gilford nailed the role, and I think he would do the same with Cannonball. Also, he doesn't seem to be against wearing superhero costumes, as can be seen in the "Gilfanator" video.

Tricia Helfer as Mystique

When I think of Mystique, I think mysterious, sexy, and deadly. When I think of Tricia Helfer, I think mysterious, sexy, and deadly. I'd prefer she stick with a more "classic" version of the Mystique costume, but I wouldn't complain if they took the "naked" look made famous in the movies.

Deborah Ann Woll as Hope

The only reason I second guess this pick is because she may be too old to convincingly play Hope. However, Woll is best known for her role in True Blood, where she plays a girl who is basically robbed of her childhood and normal life and thrown into a world of supernatural and powerful beings. I think she is great at it. She can play innocent and vulnerable one minute, then powerful and deadly the next.

Sigourney Weaver as Danger (voice, at least)

This just seems right to me. Weaver has a voice that definitely has presence, but isn't over the top or overbearing. She has always had a certain undefinable sexuality to her that I feel goes great with an anatomically correct female robot. Also, she looked really hot as an "avatar" Na'vi, so why not check her out in robot form.

- I saw a side-by-side comparison shot of Cyclops and Tahmoh Penikett, and there is a distinct likeness there. Plus, he's really good on Battlestar Galactica.
- For some reason, I can't see Milla as Jean Grey. She would've made an excellent Black Widow, but that ship has sailed when Scarlett Johannson came around, dat gunt (I'm joking around, I'm not pissed about Scarlett). However, if you watch Vera Farmiga in Joshua and Orphan, you'd see that she'd make a great Jean Grey.
- Eh, I'd want someone with the voice for Beast. Hey, what do you think of Keifer Sutherland?
- Good pick for Kitty Pryde. But what do you think of my choice: Lyndsy Fonseca?
- Someone on ************** cast Daniel Bruhl as Nightcrawler. I think that's a great pick. But I like Alan Tudyk, and wouldn't care what role he's cast in.
- Julie Benz is an odd one. I've seen her work on Dexter, and she's not that bad an actress. But she seems to attract herself to such horrible movies. Lest we forget the mediocre Punisher: War Zone. But Emma Frost could be the make-it-or-break-it role that could challenge her.
- I somewhat like Tricia for Emma Frost, even though I've approved of your choice of Julie Benz. Maybe this is the role Milla could work with, since she can play intense, brooding characters.
- I saw Deb cast as Hope on ************** on one of JoshW's Cable fancasts.

The rest are great.

For Fantastic Four, I'd put:
Joseph Fiennes as Mr. Fantastic/Reed Richards
Naomi Watts or Rachel McAdams as The Invisible Woman/Sue Storm
Chris Pine as The Human Torch/Johnny Storm
Jeffrey Dean Morgan as The Thing/Ben Grimm

I still wish Emily Blunt would've been Black Widow. ScarJo is alright but Blunt would've killed it. And use a Russian accent. For some reason it REALLY bugs me when they don't use the accents the character is supposed to have. I just think it really takes away a big part of the character.

I don't mind. If a spy has an accent, that usually means they're a s****y spy.
