Also, David Greenwalt's involvement does earn this some goodwill from me, since I'm fairly sure Angel was more his show than Whedon's.

Wow, the trailer was very bland. The concept is interesting, but the lead seems pretty dull.

True. Actually, Angel was more his character than Whedon's. He wrote the first Angel-heavy Buffy episode ("Angel," obviously) that went into his backstory for the first time, and from what I understand, he pretty much ran the character's arc from there on 'till he left Angel in S3 (I think?).

I'll give this show a shot for Greenwalt. But based on the trailer I don't have particularly high hopes.

I saw that trailer and I'm very excited, I may actually watch this in real time. Greenwalt is a very very smart writer and this show looks fun. When does it premiere the 28th?

Does it seem CW-ish? I want to give this a try, but I hope its not like a CW series.

Well, that depends on how you define "CW-ish". If you mean typical CW ****, then no, I don't see this being anything like 90210 or Gossip Girl. But in terms of the few good things the CW has to offer, I don't really see this being that different than something like Supernatural.

I walked in on the commercial for Grimm just as it ended. I completely forgot the show was in commission.

Weird how NBC and ABC seem to have similar shows going on this season. Looking forward to Grimm more than Once Upon a Time.

This show seems Supernatural like so I will be watching but I doubt it will last long on NBC.

I must admit, this worked for me tonight.

It wasn't bad at all. My opinion, of course.

They have a procedural with fantasy elements and a natural arc, which is Nick discovering his family's legacy and how his parents really died. Oh, and they already established that the Grim Reaper mythology came from the family's natural enemy: The Reaper of Grimms. Now, whether that was the title of the creature that tried to kill Nick and his aunt, or the scythe he tried to use, I'm not clear about.

Already permanent on my DVR. Hope it only gets better from here.

Pretty good premiere.

Did anyone find it weird how often David did the classic cop pose with the hands on the hips?

Wow, I have to say I was surprised how entertaining this was! I really like the premise. Should be interesting on what they do with fairy tale villains and German folklore. I enjoyed the fact that the Grim has enlisted the help of the reformed "blutbad," who seems like he'll be an entertaining character. I also like how this is similar yet very different than Once Upon A Time.

Actually did pretty well in the ratings, hope it holds up:

Quote:
– Grimm, however, opened really well, all things considered. The supernatural drama delivered 6.5 million viewers and a 2.1 in the demo. That’s building 110 percent upon its lead in. Grimm ranked as Friday’s highest-rated non-sports show and, in fact, was the highest-rated non-sports show that’s aired on a Friday since last December. Grimm also built slightly from 8 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. This is definitely a promising start for a Friday drama.

And here’s some food for thought: Grimm had a higher-rated premiere than NBC’s Prime Suspect or Playboy Club — yet arguably had the toughest time period launch of any new fall show.

NBC was aided by CBS going into repeats to avoid the smash-up. So did Fox (while releasing this video to appease Fringe fans). ABC had reality and news.

Given the situation, Chuck and Grimm deserve to be graded on a curve (ball). And the issue wasn’t”how did NBC do in the ratings” anyway, but whether these shows are going to be able to perform well in the weeks to come if a percentage of viewers miss these launch episodes since they were watching the Big Game. As the new kid on the block, Grimm in particular had a lot on the line. Chuck fans, one suspects, will find the show. For once, DVR is the network’s friend.
