Default Shirt Rip...

It was mentioned in another thread that Spider-Man does a "shirt-rip" in homage to Superman...
Is this something all of you would like to see in the new Superman film or do you think the shirt-rip is too cheesy and should be left out?

yes it can be done without it been cheesy. In Batman Begins they had the moment where he opened the doors to reveal the suit and that wasn't cheesy.

the shirt rip is 100 percent necessary, and you need to have the right music cue as well

It's right up there with all the other things I wanna see in this film..
SR butchered the shirt rip, so hopefully this time it will be done right.

I always thought the shirt rip was horrible in Superman Returns as well... I mean, just downright terrible.

Hope they give it it's due this time around!

The Williams theme playing as he rips the shirt in STM didn't hurt, but they probably won't even go there. If WB's says it's got to be there (like the 007 Theme) I don't have a problem with it, but if they come up with a whole new theme I'm okay with that as this is a total reboot. Hell who thought Elfman's Batman 89 theme could be topped or matched, but Hans Zimmer/ James Newton Howard came up with a credible alternative.

Even though this has no connection to previous Superman movies I could totally see WB's saying the Theme has to be incorporated into the new score. As someone pointed out in the reboot of James Bond they got rid of everything but the theme...Oh and Dame Judy Dench. I wouldn't be surprised if Disney finally get the Lone Ranger reboot done that it'll have the William Tell Overture music.

Here's a thought. Get Williams to score the reboot and he can rework his own theme while still keeping it totally recognizable..

Alright he has good taste because those are my faves as well!! Classic all the way baby, you wait and see.

Somewhere between Swan's Brawny Superman and Lee's semi roided look is a nice happy medium.

Reading that article gives me more faith that the costume will be done right. I know he says Jim Lee been his favourite won't have any effect on the film but maybe the Jim Lee Superman costume will be what Snyder bases the films costume on (hopefully).
