Is there any good reason for this constant new thread business? It makes the "quote" functionality much less useful when dealing with threads like this, which rack up 1000 posts in only a matter of days.

I'll believe anyone who says Robin's not in the movie. Not because they have inside knowledge (even if they claim to), but because it's a no-brainer and quite obvious.

I heard from three sources, the only one who would go on camera being state Sen. Rick Jones. All three mentioned the water treatment facility being considered for “Robin’s Cave” specifically. I’m not as up on my Batman lore as others but I wasn’t aware that Robin got a cave. As this was just a scouting mission, I don’t have any details on actors or even confirmation as to what role he’ll play. I just know what my 3 sources told me. Granted the production team scouting could’ve given them “Robin’s Cave” as a red herring.

Yeah, that's what I'm guessing. ROBIN'S CAVE is the new RORY'S FIRST KISS. And that's probably what got the JGL as Robin rumor flying.

"Robin's Cave" would be a terrible faux title. One of the whole points of the faux title is to make the production seem boring and uninteresting to those not in the know, keeping them out of the hair of the production staff. But Robin's already associated with Batman, and the cave only reinforces that.

I remember late at night, during filming of "The Dark Knight," sometimes people driving by would pull up and ask what was going on - more often than not, they'd specifically ask if they were shooting the Batman movie (as was common knowledge in Chicago at the time). The closest production tech would say they're shooting a movie called "Rory's First Kiss" - then the people in the car would just drive off, completely uninterested.

Of course, whenever I chimed in and said "They're shooting Batman," (to the slight annoyance of the production tech), the people in the car would shout "cool!" and sometimes stick around for awhile.

Just goes to show what a good faux title will do for you - and what I suspect "Robin's Cave" would be less than effective for.

That's unfortunate. Threads like these tend to have multiple conversations sparking up and petering out all the time - some related to the topic at hand, some not. The quote button functionality really helps facilitate this, as it quickly makes it clear which conversation your response is aimed at and what points it addresses. But when you can no longer quote someone just like that, I fear it makes it all too easy to just be lazy, let it go, and move on, rather than continue a potentially interesting sub-thread - hence, sub-threads peter out sooner than perhaps they ought to.

Not saying it's worth the site crashing - especially since I don't know how frequently it does, or how badly, and I certainly don't have to deal with the repercussions myself. But it just sucks that stability and an easy, natural user interface seem at least partially mutually exclusive.
