reading Peters Twitter and i was reminded what we were reading in 2010. that this would be a new approach. but now it looks like it will be based on popular comics. not that its bad. its just ntohing new.
''Wasn't the word on the new Superman that it was, "a way of approaching the story I’ve never seen before that makes it incredibly exciting."'' ''Birthright...Ursa....most likely Zod....possibly exciting but not so much an approach we haven't seen.'' |

Again, we only know so much. The thing about Zod that we know about is that his motives has always been the same "Why win over Earth if you can take it over". Sure we can go more in depth and modern this time around but yeah, it's not really that fresh, especially when Zod tends to wear his 'megalomania personality' on his sleeve. They probably would have to change him up a bit to make him interesting.
That's why I think if Zod is used again, it'll hopefully won't be a recap of Superman 2. I expect some suprises, just like what Goyer (and Nolan) did with Batman Begins.

Yep, that's how I read it too. Something not yet seen with any live-action Superman.

btw, i don't wanna see emphasis on villain character development like in batman's movies. i love superman villain to be natural born evil. i would like them to spent more time on the life of our hero and friend and his city. make them more relatable to the audience. i don't wanna relatable to the villain.

Depends on which villain we're talking about, but in generel I prefer fleshed out characters, especially main characters.
Someone like ZOD needs a personal motivation and I wanna see it, otherwise I'm not gonna care about him when he's onscreen. Someone like Brainiac might not need a personal motivation as such, but I still wanna see how he came to be. If you dont want villain "character", then Superman might as well be fighting a natural disaster. Or Doomsday. |

the villains' motivation = destruction on the earth for its resources and its nuclear power.
i don't have to know how he/they become so. and am not interested in.

Well, his movies are s***, but if kept on a leash, his scripts can shine (Dark City, Begins) so there's hope. Now Nolan and Snyder just need to dig (that Goyer) well, and dig soon.

I think Goyers a decent writer but he needs to be controlled, he tends to struggle with dialogue in my opinion and Chris sorted that in Batman Begins (well mostly) so I believe they will have sorted any dialogue problems with this new Superman script.
