Lindsay says the driver of the 18-wheeler cut her off, but anyway:

Quote:
Lindsay Lohan was in a bad car accident and is in the emergency room at an L.A. hospital ... TMZ has learned.

Lindsay Lohan was driving her black Porsche on the Pacific Coast Highway in Santa Monica when it slammed into the back of an 18 wheeler around noon. The Porsche is totaled. The passenger window was shattered and the bumper was fully off her car.

We're told she did not go to the hospital by ambulance, although we are told an ambulance was called to the scene.

Eyewitnesses tell us both Lindsay and her assistant (the passenger) were bleeding and bruised, and the assistant is in an ambulance en route to the hospital. Lindsay and her assistant were both conscious after the accident.

And now she's delayed the filming of her movie. Seriously, this broad needs to get her **** together or no one will want to work with her again.

These two should join forces, becoming the Thelma and Louis of accidents, and hijinks culminates to them both driving off a cliff.

They said she went from the hospital straight to set.

Quote:
Lindsay Lohan is so determined to prove she's no longer a slacker -- she's hiding extensive injuries she sustained during her massive car wreck yesterday just to keep shooting her new Liz Taylor movie.

Sources close to Lindsay tell us, the actress refused to let producers cancel yesterday's shoot because of the car accident -- bee-lining straight to the movie set once she was released from the hospital.

We're told Lindsay has several visible injuries on her body -- including bruises and scratches -- but she asked to cover them with makeup so she could keep shooting.

Sources tell us, Linds is so serious about nailing the Liz role -- she refuses to let the crash become a distraction.

Remember, LiLo has a lot at stake -- besides this movie -- she also needs to show other producers and directors in Hollywood she's really back and reliable enough to hire.

LiLo has gotten into enough car accidents to show that she's really a lousy driver. She should just ask her assistant to drive and ride as a passenger from now on.

seeing news she's claiming her brakes fail, I think the rental company can prove there's nothing wrong with the brakes, most likely Lohan was driving too fast

I heard on the radio that the rental Porsche actually had its braked replaced recently, so there goes her excuse. I doubt the insurance would be able to pay for the entire car, so she better have enough money in the bank to pay for the damages.

How come Lohan was in Herbie: Fully Loaded? She seems like the least likely candidate.

She should've been in films like Drive Angry or Crash.

Is anyone really surprised by this?

Quote:
Law enforcement sources tell TMZ ... Lindsay Lohan lied to cops Friday by telling them she was NOT driving the Porsche that slammed into a truck on the Pacific Coast Highway, and as a result she could be prosecuted and her probation could be revoked.

Our sources say, when Lindsay was in the hospital getting checked out after the accident, cops from the Santa Monica Police Dept. paid a visit. Lindsay told police she was a passenger in the Porsche and her assistant was driving. But the lie didn't stick because later Lindsay's assistant told police Lindsay was behind the wheel.

We're told police are writing up a report that will include Lindsay's lie. It's a crime to provide false info to a police officer. In addition, lying to police could trigger a probation violation in her shoplifting case, which means she faces the possibility of jail on 2 fronts.

Several eyewitnesses at the scene tell TMZ, after the crash Lindsay and her assistant both got out of the car on the passenger side, which means Lindsay had to climb over the console. It appears Lindsay had concocted the lie almost immediately after impact.

I hope the filmmakers for that Elizabeth Taylor movie have a backup to play Taylor, just in case if she gets thrown into jail before the movie wraps. If Lindsay had to drop out of the movie because of this car accident, the next time we'll see her may be on a Vivid production.

What's Vivid?

Maybe they'll just shelve the Taylor movie, although they shouldn't be just relying on her.

Vivid specializes in adult entertainment.

As for relying too much on Lindsay in the Liz Taylor biopic...well, considering the fact that she's playing the title role, I think it makes it unavoidable.
