If you think our tax money funds abortions, you folks are dead wrong. There's an amendment preventing just that.

For anyone who's interested, I did a video for part of my series that deals in part with the October Baby movie coming out this Friday.

Enjoy.

I realize this still goes on, but what I want to know is where.

I live in CA and the past jobs I've had as well as friends and their jobs, some women(not manager types either)are getting paid more than the men at times.

I can't believe some areas in the country are still treating women in that manner. It's 2012 and some sexist morons still think women shouldn't be paid equally. *facepalm*

As for abortion, I used to be pro-life, but over the years I have mixed feelings about it all. It's wrong for the government or other people to tell someone what they can or can't do with their body, but on the other hand no matter how you look at it, it's still a barbaric act. This is why I don't vote on laws involving abortion, I truly can't make up my mind on where I stand really.

Someone brought up a really good point that I never considered before.

If a microscopic cell on an alien world is considered life...then the same rule should apply to inside our bodies.

What about the microscopic life in your mattress? Should we give them a vote? You a big supporter of PETA?

Never said I agreed with what they said :P

My personal belief is that no one should have the right to decide a person should not have a chance at living a life.

Er, that really doesn't have to do with anything.

We kill animals and plant life all the time. It's called having something to eat. We've never had a problem destroying life.

The question is whether a microscopic bunch of cells can have more rights than a full-grown adult human.

That's like saying "if you think discrimination exists, you're wrong, there's a Civil rights act preventing that."

You can't compare a single cell to a human being. Also a fetus is not a single celled organism.

I never said a fetus is a single celled organism. If you want the right to kill human life..fine just be open and frank and honest about it like danoyse...who admit its baby killing but it should be ok 'because'. This sick analogy is truly disturbed.

The GOP supported sending young men and women to die in Iraq in an unnecessary war based on lies and manufactured intelligence. Republicans who support the war in Iraq have nothing to say about pro-choice Democrats.

Michigan Anti-Abortion Bill, 'Most Extreme' In The Country, Barrels Through State House

A massive, 60-page omnibus bill that drastically limits abortion access and could shut down all abortion clinics in the state is being rushed through the Michigan State House of Representatives on Thursday.

The bill was introduced just last week, but lawmakers held a hearing for it on Thursday morning and are sending it to a full House vote on Thursday afternoon. A spokesperson for Planned Parenthood Mid and South Michigan said about 90 people showed up at the Health Policy Committee hearing to testify against the bill, but Committee Chair Gail Haines (R-Waterford) abruptly ended the hearing and cut off all testimony after a Michigan Right to Life spokesperson and only a few others were able to speak.

"We had a lot of doctors there and members of the committee asking questions about what the full ramifications of a lot of these provisions could be, and quite frankly a lot of folks couldn't answer them," said Meghan Groen, a spokesperson for PPMSM.

Specifically, the omnibus bill would criminalize all abortions after 20 weeks of pregnancy, without exceptions for rape victims, the health of the woman or in cases where there is a severe fetal anomaly. It would require health centers that provide abortions to have surgery rooms, even when they don't provide surgical abortions. It would require doctors to be present for medication abortions and to screen women for "coercion" before providing an abortion, and it would create new regulations for the disposal of fetal remains.

The bill would also ban "telemedicine" abortions, or the use of technology to prescribe medication for abortion services and the morning-after pill.

"It could shut down most reproductive health centers in the state of Michigan," said Groen. "It's the most extreme legislation we're seeing anywhere in the country."

State Rep. Mike Shirkey (R-Clark Lake) told a local television station on Wednesday that he supports the bill and hopes it will end abortion in Michigan. "This [abortion] is nothing short of infanticide. Until we completely eliminate abortions in Michigan and completely defund Planned Parenthood, we have work to do," he said.

Sad the women died. This decision should have been based on a medical footing and not a religious one.

Here's a crazy one for you! This bill would make a abortion felony tampering with evidence!

"Fetuses are people! Let's use them as evidence!"

The hypocrisy doesn't end there either:

Quote:
In malpractice case, Catholic hospital argues fetuses aren’t people
...
Catholic organizations have for decades fought to change federal and state laws that fail to protect “unborn persons,” and Catholic Health’s lawyers in this case had the chance to set precedent bolstering anti-abortion legal arguments. Instead, they are arguing state law protects doctors from liability concerning unborn fetuses on grounds that those fetuses are not persons with legal rights.

I want to know who becomes financially responsible for the child. The rape victim who was not only forcibly impregnated but, force to have the baby, or, is the state responsible since they forced the woman to have the baby so they could use its DNA as evidence.

I don't think it should be considered a human until it's brain is fully developed. When that is the case...the mother or the adoption agency should be required to care for the child after it's born until suitable parents can be found.

It's the only logical choice.

Well, Stephen Colbert will be busy:

So if I get shot, does it mean the bullet can't be removed, since it would also be "tampering with evidence."
