I dislike Costner in some of his roles, but in the right ones, he's very likeable. He would make a great Pa Kent. Which is what I think he's being pegged for.

Wait a minute... people are criticizing him for helping during the Gulf Oil Spill crisis? Seriously?
"Self-serving." Yeah, right. So I guess when you have a genuine solution to a disaster that is killing wildlife and poisoning our waters, you should just say, "Hmmm, I'm going to sit this one out because I'm already famous. Let someone else handle it." People say the the most arrogant sh** on these boards sometimes.

Regardless, none that has anything to do with being pretentious which is my opinion of him and I think it shows in his performances -- the topic at hand. |

Costner as Pa Kent would be great. if he plays Perry i guess that'd be okay too but i'd rather see someone else for Perry White.

I wouldn't mind Danny Glover as Perry, if you wanted a color blind casting..

It's Pa Kent as per Latino Review.

I can't see Costner wanting to turn it down.

Interesting casting, like some have already stated, when he's got a good role, he does great, but he also has done bad. But I think this would be good casting. Very interesting.

Funny enough, as has been brought to my attention, KevinCostner.com has a song titled Superman 14, which is sung by Kevin Costner, playing on the site.

Strikes me as odd casting. I know he hasn't been a true A-lister for a long time, but he's still an awfully big name for Pa Kent.
Can't say I'm a big fan of Costner anyway.

CBM is also reporting it as pretty much confirmed.
