But your argument is that the studio MUST ignore products that made them money, and from a business perspective it doesn't make a whole lotta sense. yes, Darren's gonna do his thing and I'm thrilled, but the only reason they've probably agreed to that is because he's Darren Aronofsky. I doubt Gavin Hood would be allowed to direct a stand-alone pseudo-reboot like that. Matthew Vaughn wasn't allowed that pleasure either (if he was he woulda used the original First Class).

The Last Stand didn't sit well with the core fans, but it worked for the studio and the GA. You see where I'm getting at? The studio has absolutely no reason to ignore it and retconning a miniscule character like Moira in X3 doesn't point to that at all, specially with that chair in the trailer.

I think all of that can be reconciled really very easily - just show that Charles went bald before the fallout between him and Erik. Makes sense to me. Am I missing anything specific?

I think that IF they make a sequel to this (though I doubt it - it would be a lot more original if they entered another X-Men film with a different director, gives us varied interpretations, keeping things fresh, but still all in the same universe/continuity) and if Cykes and Jean are in it, it'd be more appropriate to just have them as members head-on. Think Ultimate X-Men (I know fans hate it, but lets be honest with ourselves - the approach is very friendly with the film franchise).

True, I think the only one who can truly play a 'younger' Kelsey Gramer is the man who played his brother on the Fraiser show (damn I miss watching Fraiser, all of my friends hated on it when it was on!)

This is from the trailer, and that feet sure don't look feline! If my guess is right, they're really bridging the designs between cat-Beast and real-Beast with this one. It's also fitting since, y'know, it happened in the '60s

He's definitely a mixture of ape and feline. His face alone tells me that.

but I think they could have used a more mysterious scene with her, and a better shot at her face, so the adult audience would recognize her as the actress from Mad Men.

Ok on to the trailer itself, it was nice we get glimpses of the characters but seeing James McAvoy as Prof. X was badass.

I think that mixture is a very important aspect, since we are talking 'adaptation', not 'retelling' (of X-Men comics).

I think Emma is one of the greatest characters from the comic, so just showing how she transform in diamond form is a poor way of pressenting ger to the general audience.

I know is just a teaser, but I think the character should have had a better introduction on the teaser, showing January acting a bit, with the sexy and cold attitude of Emma.

Ahhhh, some McAvoy/Prof. X love, sweet!
I wish they had used more scenes of Xavier doing his stuff on the trailer, or being a bit of a "sex pest" or whatever. Solo scenes, I mean, so that Magneto wouldn't be so prominent. The film is about both of them after all, it's not a "Magneto Origins" (hopefully, imo).

You guys think for the final trailer they will go with the character names coming up?Like they did with x1 and x2 where they flashed the characters name than snippet of them

I loved those trailers, not sure if they will do it with this one cuse not alot of known mutants in terms of general audience but it would still be cool to do.

It reminds me when James Newton-Howard composed the score for the second Batman Begins trailer. I love when a musical track is composed especially for a trailer (i.e. Zack Hemsey scoring "Mind Heist" for the third Inception trailer).
