that's an inaccurate list... Sony does have the rights to nearly all of the spidey villains (aside from kingpin) and it leaves out several other characters that are on film already... (Silver Surfer/Galactus) and other's that they most certainly have the rights to (Super Skrull, Puppet Master, Vulture, Black Cat)

It also doesn't address Feige's recent comments stating that a lot of these are on a case by case basis, IE Fox and Marvel Studios could use Wanda and Pietro.

I think Marvel will avoid Pietro and Wanda completely. It would be too much of a headache. They have plenty of other Avengers to explore.

i don't see why... it's not like they were first introduced in the avengers as magneto's children. an they're not huge pro mutant activists that it really defines their characters or anything.. their far more avengers then x-men characters.

Wasn't quicksilver in a very brief scene in XO:Wolverine? I'm sure Fox would use that as an excuse to avoid him being in Avengers sequels. It's just a headache better avoided.

I want Fantastic Four to revert back to Marvel, but Fox has been very persistent in crushing that hope - at least in the short-term future. Are they actually developing a new movie, or are these infrequent "updates" about the film being "in-development" simply disinformation? I imagine Marvel wants FF badly. Is Fox waiting to see just how much the franchise is worth to them?

I don't see Spider-Man going back to Marvel for a very long time, if it ever does. So long as that franchise remains profitable, there is absolutely no incentive for Sony to give it up.

Daredevil I could see going back to Marvel.

I say the only franchise that is without a doubt going back to Marvel is Ghost Rider. Sony will let the rights expire. As far as Spider-man, that might never go back same as X-men. I can never see either franchise ever bombing at the box office. From what I read on the Fox deals the properties have to be in production not development by a certain time.

I'm not so sure of that. Ghost Rider 2 bombed, yes. . . but it still broke even. Sony might keep it and proceed to make more bargain basement schlockfests.

I don't think Sony will ever make a new Ghost Rider movie especially after Spirit of Vengeance so I'm expecting Marvel to have the rights back next year or at least in 5 years.

When they became Avengers [in '65 or '66] SW and SQ were NOT related to Magneto, just members of his brotherhood, and their parents were revealed to have been Golden Age heroes some time in the mid-70's. Not sure when they changed things up and had Magneto their pop, I am guessing in the '80's during Claremonts X-run...

Point is they were used in the Avengers for YEARS with out any ties to Magneto so that should not be an issue - now not being able to call them "Mutants" may be a little tougher to dance around, but I am sure Marvel can find a way.

they just had a kid with white hair, convulsing fastly. They never said his name, or credited him as such

Just call them "superhumans", or reference their abilities without calling attention to their nature as a mutation.

I could totally see a scene where Steve looks at them and asks Fury "where'd they get their abilities?" And Fury responds "apparently they were born with them"

I'm not so sure about the 'can't use the word mutants' thing. That seems preposterous. Has this actually ever been stated by someone who wasn't posting from home in their underwear? I don't think I've ever seen an official cite for that.

For the longest time their powers were link to Mt. Mount Wundagore. So they can even hint a High Evolutionary connection.

fiege recently announced it, with the whole Skrull/Maximoff twins rights information.

they said FOX can use the twins, but not mention the Avengers, Vision, and i assume (the inhumans (for pietro)). And Marvel can use the twins, but not refrence Magneto, the X-men, or mutants

Do you think advertisers are trying to milk public confusion over marvel studio and its various other marvel properties?

I saw a recent TASM commerical on tv and it started with the flipping marvel logo. I don't remember past non marvel studio marvel films playing up that logo on the tv ads.

I wonder with the succes of the avengers if the advertisers are trying to attach it to the marvel brand and make viewers assume they were produced by the same people?
