Default John McTiernan Should Direct IM4

The guy hasn't directed anything since he got out of prison so Marvel could theoretically low ball for the guy who directed Die Hard, Predator and The Hunt for Red October. Plus it would be a final swan song for RDJ come 2020.

I'd cast Zac Effron as Zeke Stane and then anyone as Ghost. IMO, the 616 version of Ghost was a bit cheapened by the knowledge that he's a white guy angry at being laid off under the mask. I'd rather see Ghost with no past and possibly even be played by a woman. The appeal of Ghost is that the less you really know, the better since he's a villain shrouded in mystery.

I'd then throw Spymaster into the film. I'm not sure if I'd use Sinclair Abbot or Ted Calloway but he'd be in the film as a minor villain working for Iron Monger who breaks into Stark Enterprises.

The storylines being adapted would be Armor Wars and The Five Nightmares.

Some 80's/90's old fashion action adventure scenes would be a welcome change from all the boring stylized CGI action nowadays.

A few of the Marvel Superheroes are somewhat niche characters that aren't extremely versatile, thus they don't have a lot of longevity potential. For example, Namor is a water guy, Silver Surfer is a space guy, Dr. Strange is a magic guy, and so on.

John McTiernan would be a great choice, especially after Shane Black did such a wonderful job on Iron Man 3. Two 1980s legends taking on Tony Stark's adventures. Man, now I wanna see that. Too bad McTiernan is pretty much blacklisted from Hollywood.

Dude has been out of jail for over a year yet, and the industry isn't really interested. The very first thing 20th Century Fox should have done is to call him up and ask him for the last sequel to save the Die Hard franchise, and instead they hire Len Wiseman for one of the most asinine concepts I've ever heard, Die Hard: Year One.

I think I'd rather see them try and see if Favreau would be interested in doing it.

Jon Favreau did a great job on the first one, didn't have a chance on part two, but it'd be great seeing different people on it. I loved Shane Black's take, for example.
