Is it just me or does he have a mouth piece? There seems to be two sections over his nose and mouth that stick out [aren't shaded] and are lacking horizontal webbing... Am I crazy?

honestly...people have heart attacks over EVERY time a suit is revealed for the first time, regardless of which movie it is...even if it's a sequel. hell, it's not even confined to suit pictures...just look at the first time the Hulk was revealed...

The thing back then that people were angry about was raised silver webbing...that was a walk in the park.

i don't have a problem with the rest of the suit, its just the gloves, they look like they couldn't be bothered finishing the red

I still can't decide about that costume. Sometimes I look at it and think it's pretty cool. Other times, it just doesn't look right to me. Those gloves just keep bothering me.

I think the suit looks great, nice mask, like the change back to web shooters. I can't wait. Also my friend studied fashion in college and she said that no regular high school kid would be able to make Spiderman's costume as it is in the comic. Knit fabrics are difficult to sew even for people with sewing experience. Peter's wrestling costume from the first movie is the most realistic depiction of what a high schooler would be superheroing, and do you really want to see Spiderman in that for a good two hours?

At least they have the poses down. Still not sure about the red texture.

Is it me or do I see the Lizard reflected in Spidey's lenses?
Oh by the way, Raimi's Spider-Man posters also showed spidey with yellow/golden reflective lenses (look image below):

Yeah because there's a big shining bright yellow dwarf behind him.
Whereas the new promo pic is in isolated darkness with no source of light and the set pics we have gotten the lenses have a cold tint to them. So I think its safe to say just like the nike silver shoes, and there being no belt that there is yellow lenses now. Although I actually like that though.

If there is one thing I would change about the new costume is the gloves. Looking at the new picture, the blue fingers is a distraction. Having them all red with the black webbing I believe would have looked better.
Overall, people who complain about the whole costume, well... ![]() Seriously |

Reply to lalalala man from previous thread:
Reading your reply I think we're actually coming from the same thought process in a lot of areas. Okay, the scarlet spider example was poorly executed, yes, but the point I was trying to get across still applies. Spiderman’s suit has changed over the years and will continue to get new random costumes as long as there is a fan base. Although the original will always still be the original. My point was that this suit looks like a Spiderman suit, and it’s obviously not a cheap dud like Tobey’s wrestling suit so it will def be throughout the movie. But to me this still doesn’t mean its his official suit that he wears throughout this trilogy. And I say trilogy because all speculation aside Andrew is a great actor and his charm (not to mention childhood obsession for the character) will transition well into peter parker. I think were in for something special with this movie/trilogy. and if I’m wrong ill eat my words and admit my stupidity for trusting Hollywood but for now Spiderman is my favorite hero and they got (imo) the “perfect” actor to play peter parker. So I’m going to be optimistic about this movie. Hopefully I’m correct in this. The villains... I don’t understand your point. My point was that the villains in hero movies vary so your reply to that comment was misplace and you proved nothing with your point. Sure they reuse villains in different franchises of the same heroes, (with all due respect) DOooIII!!!! haha And finally the movies that I named... I’m not a big batman fan. It was prolly wrong for me to use those to back up my point but if you read the comment following mine we address I was wrong with this fact. I looked at the movie titles along with their director and the fact batman was a different actor, so I figured different franchise. I’ve prolly seen the movies what once maybe twice. To end… A reboot was necessary. And personally who cares what’s going on in people’s heads. Would you rather they not make a new Spiderman movie for 10 years just because they waited a certain amount of time to reboot batman. The difference between now and back in the late 1980's to early/mid 1990's the demand for superhero movies wasn’t near as high as it is today. People want a Spiderman movie and Raimi played out his trilogy. Things could be much worse. Let go what you can’t control. Just sayin……. And feel free gimme your opinion or to correct me on incorrect information I supplied. Unlike most I like being corrected. That way next time it comes up I’m that much more informed on the topic haha cheers mates. Last edited by rowleyslims; 02-14-2011 at 10:47 PM. |
