I'm expecting a Huckabee/Gingrich/Barbour over Romney. I think Johnson can take the states Romney will do best in.

Huckabee would have actually said very little in those debates....he would have simply let the others hang themselves, and he would have won by default.

He's not, though?

He was endorsed by a Tea Party group...but that doesn't make him a member.

Exactly, hell I agree with a good portion of the Tea Party platform, but I would not describe myself as a Tea Partier, nor have I ever been to, or will ever go to one of their rallies...

Just because they endorse someone doesn't maket them a member....

Hell in the State of Texas at the state level, Dems endorse Reps, and vice versa....AAAAALLLLLL the time.

One thing I am noticing about this movement....they are becoming much more focused on their organizing.... and its pretty damn smart focusing.

In Wisconsin, people have been saying how they left the capital because of this reason or that reason, when in reality, they have simply moved to 3 specific districts in Wisconsin where the Democrat who was just elected in those areas are in jeopardy of a recall....

For those that do not agree with the Tea Partiers and think they are hick, racist, backwoods people that know nothing of government.....that may come back to bite you in the ass in the coming years. They are FAR more focused on issues than the Dems and Repubs. combined.....they are getting scary as hell.

Indeed Marx. If that pipe dream is true, it will be a future of anguish and social decline that will put the US 100 years back. Some of us like to look forward and not go back to the days Rockefeller, child labor and rats in our meat. But that's socialism for you, I guess.

Have I seen you argue against child labor laws? Yes. Have I seen you argue against the existence of the FDA? Yep. Have I seen you argue that corporations should be unregulated? Indeed. Have I seen you vilify unions as a scourge on governments and the free market? Guess.

It ain't a strawman if it's true. Just go to politico and see what the tea baggers in the comment sections have to say when they aren't shooting off racist epitaphs at Michele Obama to see what your "future" would look like.

The fallacy is the notion that child labor laws stop child labor or simply force it under ground. Child labor occurs, not from a lack of law, but from economic conditions. You can't wish that away.

The fallacy is the notion that the FDA is what keeps rat meat out of the food and not the fact that no one wants to buy rat BBQ. In the private sector, consumers shape the game with their purchasing power. I have already demonstrated that the FDA doesn't keep unsavory elements out of food anyway. The FDA just blinds consumers and PROTECTS negligent companies by giving a false stamp of approval.

You see the progress that society has made since the 1800's and assume it was because of government. I find that ridiculous.

And surely you aren't suggesting that having an ignorant section of an ideological movement destroys the validity of the ideas espoused by it. Everyone has nuts.

So a future where the US defaults on its debts from all the promises made by the leftists that the federal gov't can't possibly fulfill is something to really look forward to?

Or maybe you would prefer that the dollar becomes practically worthless, because rather than default on the interest payments, the fed just keeps printing and printing money?

Hey, that sounds like a GREAT future.

The REAL pipe dream is the one that leftists envision, where gov't can regulate the US into a utopia, where everyone can get the health care they need, retirement can be guaranteed, people can be guaranteed a minimum income, and taxes can be raised and regulations increased to accomplish the previous with no negative side effects on individuals, businesses, or the economy.

Progressivism is the belief that government can create Utopia. They would rather have a country of happy slaves than a society of free man living on their own merit.

Three of the worst foods are subsidized by the government and being advocated as awesome foods by the FDA. The FDA is teaching everyone to eat unhealthy and get fat. While Michelle Obama *****es about the very thing her husband's friends are subsidizing.

You ever seen how a cow react after 6 months of a corn fed diet - and why they slaughter them just before this period of time?

The three culprit food being grains, corn and soy. Corn cost quite a bit to make, is now a cheap crap source being feed to farm animals, pets and people. Had this not been distorted you wouldn't have nearly half the health problems today, since it would be cheaper to use a healthier alternative. Nevermind the amount of land wasted on corn ethanol. A problem even AL GORE agrees on for christ sake.

But calling the Tea Party movement and libertarians supporters of child labor and unsanitary health conditions is a strawman argument. This is a very different world than that of 1900. Society has progressed to a point where child labor is abhorred and would not be tolerated even without child labor laws and with the Internet and mass media, it is way too easy to expose unsanitary and unsafe conditions in factories, restaurants, etc. No sane person is going to want to eat food from an unsanitary factory or restaurant. And any good and decent person wouldn't purchase products from an unethical corporation. Unsanitary work places go out of business and companies that are lax such as BP take a massive beating from the consumer public when things like the Gulf spill occur.

Just because one calls for the end of the FDA doesn't mean that they want to see corporations go lax on their health and safety standards. It's a strawman argument to claim that someone who calls for the end of such government regulatory agencies wants to go back to the year 1900.
