Not sure, the grooves were the hardest part to figure out, now that they are out of the way, she should be quick to finish. Thinking about how to do the back now, as I don't have grooves in the back like the film, but I'll probably add that "x" and a similar strap pattern. I'm not making movie suit, but my own version, and this was how I originally thought of the shield before I saw any movie pics, and I'm glad they made the movie one similar to my idea
Also debating on weather to do the red and blue anodizing before the back or after, not sure... |

Yes, Alan "let's put rape in everything" Moore isn't subtle.

At that point in the story, I don't think subtlety is what's called for.but I agree alan does have a penchant for putting rape in everything. But I tend not to fixate on that because there is usually much more going on with the story. I may have to agree with mercurius on this 1.

He's just not a subtle one. And that's not a bad thing. A lot of people think that if a literary work is good, it is therefore subtle. But that's not always the case.

Moore may be talented, but he's over hyped a lot. This may be sacrilegious, but I think the parts of TDK that were adapted from the Killing Joke were more subtle than the actual comic.

Literary distinctions: Dickens isn't subtle; Henry James is. Compare, in comics, two great writers: Frank Miller & Alan Moore: same thing: the first is always direct. Moore isn't, he is, as you noticed with precision, a man of layers. And rape: John Donne asked to be raped by Gawd Almighty Himself, but was a very subtle chap, oh that he was. |

Getting back to the costume...
What material is his pants made of exactly? I'm not a fashion expert, so I have no clue what it is. Anyone?

It seems fairly era appropriate. In some of the photos it seems like parachute gear material, I guess kind of like an earlier, less advanced form of gortex or something? I'm no expert either, but it looks like one of those rougher materials that wouldn't tear easily, like a canvas/calico type thing.

Yeah it looks like it could be a thin material that rips easy. But I have no clue what that was called back then. Or is it like typical soldier pants?

I think it looks fairly tough. They may be like WWII fighter pilot pants.

I never noticed the strap inside the glove. Each time you look at the picture you find a new detail in it.

Thats what's great about a detailed costume. Noticing those little details just make it so much more convincing.
Thats why i'm so glad they had an actual prosthetic suit in Iron Man, instead of going completely CGI

Don't know if this has been posted at all, but I found it quite interesting since this is more or less the costume alot of people wanted. I'm still not convinced, but see what you think.

Yeah, I agree, it's terrible, except the dragon scale armour is essentially exactly what it would look like. That's the only part that seems accurate.

Despite it being a shoddy manip, that's exactly what people like you wanted, right Jak? I mean, not looking that crap, but as far as the creative choice goes and materials and the like, doesn't that tick the boxes? Dragon scale, redder gloves, more straps, wings...

Have they confirmed that Cap will be wearing new different costume in The Avengers? I hope he will. It wouldn't make sense if he would wear 70 years old clothes.
