If Chris is convinced then people that are worried about Henry need not be.

Quote:
He believes a good part of meeting that challenge is the casting of Henry Cavill as the Man of Steel. “He just did a great job with the material that we had him try out, so it was a win-win situation,” he notes. “He’s definitely – without saying what our Superman is – it. He knows how to do what we needed him to do.”
I loved this what Zak said about Henry

At first I'd hoped that the fan support might've played a part in Cavill getting Superman, but if he won it purely from talent alone... well it can't get better than that.

That's pretty cool, but let's not forget this was Snyder's decision and he also has had a good track record with casting good actors.

Gerard Butler, Jackie Earle Hayley, Patrick Wilson, Billy Crudup, Jeffrey Dean Morgan... all perfectly cast in their respective roles.

Yeah, I agree... Snyder deserves some credit for a lot of his casting choices over the years.

So from your guys's perspective, what would you guys want to be the "emotional problem" that Cavil has to portray for his version of Superman? What would make Superman feel more relatable without hurting the core of his character in your opinion?

Nothing new in terms of info, but there are new quotes from Cavill and Nolan:

"I was actually very close to throwing in the towel before the Bond screentest happened," he admits. "The test kept me in the industry. As soon as I got it, I thought, 'There's a reason to stick around. I'm not just wasting my time here."

"He's a terrific choice as Superman," says Christopher Nolan. "Other than having the look, he gave an incredible performance in the test we did and I think he's going to be something really extraordinary in the role."

Both Zack and Chris have a tremendous eye for casting their roles (especially the latter), so it's wonderful to hear how much Henry nailed that screen test.

Nolan doesn't need to help Snyder do anything, he's demonstrated that he is quite capable on his own.

well I would give credit to anyone who can capture the full attention of their viewers when wearing Reeve's suit considering on how outdated it is, since like Snyder said, not everyone can pull off the look, regardless of your acting skills. The fact that he had not gotten anyone to laugh at him and just commanded their presence in that suit alone says a lot imho.

Great quote from Nolan!

With that said, can every article NOT be about Henry's unlucky streaks of being passed on notable auditions?! It's getting quite annoying.

Oh who am I kidding? It'll be probably a week before the release of the movie and every media outlet, especially late night shows, will still be talking about Henry's unlucky auditions.

Can reporters ask better questions or write a new point of view about Henry?!

two talented directors with an eye for casting are better than one

It seems like Nolan and Snyder are following the same formula of surrounding Henry, an unknown, with great actors. It's a great move!

I love that the bit from the article "used to be the unluckiest man in hollywood" beams Cavill.

I can't wait for his Empire cover. It must read 'The Luckiest Man in Hollywood'. Someone in their offices must be on these forums, take note.

what's even more impressive is that Cavill claims that he wasn't even feeling the most like Superman that day. he felt too pudgy and goofy and thought everyone was going to laugh at him...so it'll be a real thrill seeing him all ripped and even MORE confident as Superman!

I bet we'll see him in the suit around summer time.

Around 6 months after his announcement on Jan 30th.

That's usually how it goes with superhero casting announcements and the first actual pic.

Plus it'll give him enough time to work on his physique and the costume dept to fine tune the suit.

Well they start shooting this summer, so I'm hoping there will be the first official pic shortly after.
