It's understandable that fans get nervous, but this is the truth. The average movie-goer just doesn't care about movies far in advance like we do. Good advertising in the month leading up to release and especially the week before is what you hope for. That and a good score on RT, because that website really has caught on at this point and regardless of how legitimate it is, the average person does pay attention.

People, chill. As I've said before, this movie (and Captain America) are vital for the Avengers franchise and for Marvel's future as a studio. They'll do everything to hype these projects.

Thor is doing better then Hulk, but it definitely needs to step it up. When April hits, hopefully they'll start going all out like they did for Iron Man.
This is very true, even I had no idea TIH was being made until June. My friends at least know thor is coming out, and are slightly intrigued.

That may be true, but 4.1 million views is still a pretty good thing in my books.

As long as people go to see the movie, i'm fine. More people seeing Thor = movie does better = more effort put into sequel.

Depends on WHERE the sequel IS tho piccolo.
I'm mean we know or are assuming,

Spoiler!!! Click to Read!:
that with the end of Thor leads into Avengers in a way with Loki. Well RUMORED with Loki leading skrulls to earth.
So somewhere we know Jane gets Bifrost reconnected somehow since Thor IS in Avengers.
So really, we have no idea if Thor 2 will be on earth or Asgard or both.

I agree with Piccolo, I'd love to see a Thor sequel with a 170-200 million dollar budget.

I'd be happy with a sequel no matter where it takes place.

I remember seing a bus and many images promoting the incredible hulk when i was in new york, by the way, thor is very important for the avengers, expecially with the fact that Loki will be a main villain.

Yeah Wead man, not all theaters will have the Mjolnir standee. I'm sure many have limited space. MORE posters and banners would be nice to see.

The only thing lacking there is some type of lightning imaging.

I can't wait to see it at the end of April here.

This movie will FAIL because there are NO NAZIS. I've not see ONE NAZI in all the footage so far. And where in the hell is the white 3D wings on his helmet?? They are obviously embarrassed by the source material. His suit is not faithful to the comics at all.

I'm disgusted by the complete disregard for the comics. If I don't see some swastikas soon then this film is DONE MAN!!

DONE!!

Thor demands to be seen on 20 screen in huge gigaplex theaters any way....

I think the final take for this in the U.S. will be somewhere between 200-300 million when its all said and done. I think though this is going to come down to word of mouth and how it is recieved opening weekend. I gotta say though speaking as someone who never read a thor comic but likes the look of the character, the trailers were kinda confusing and not really giving alot of info on the story(which isnt really a bad thing). But that is the view most general audiences will have. lets be honest thor isnt as well known as batman or spiderman but I think the movie will be fine.

Didn't really hurt Inception...but Inception looked very original and new, and it had the added promotional bonus of being able to say "From the Director of The Dark Knight." That certainly helped.

Indeed and I agree but thor is a super hero movie that has alot riding on its success. Inception was put out there and if it failed then oh well, nolan still had batman 3 to look foward to regardless. Thor has one shot to get an audience that will pay to see it. I think it could go 2 ways when it releases, one way would be ironman type success and the other could be ghost rider success. I know one thing though, it will make a killing in merchandise sales. I think the real problem though is captain america finding an audience in july when it has to go up against harry potter finale and transformers finale.
