Damn! I hope the cans hit the stores between 5 April and 10 April.
If not I will not get my hands on that cans!

So far I'd say it's the most advertised movie of the summer. Battle LA rivaled it, but that movie is out now.
You saw a tv ad for Thor?

I'm sure we can't complain about advertising anymore; and things will only get better.

A bit early for TV ads.... I would say in like 2 weeks the first one will come out followed by 7 to 9 more.

THor clearly has the most 'out' right now in the way of things for the pubnlic to peruse..... but it does have that powerful May date so it makes sense.

I still think opening day numbers are going to shock people.

Heh at the rate the Thor Toys are disappearing from the Shelves at Walmart they may not NEED too much advertising.

I have noticed more hype for Cap than Thor...but maybe as Thor gets closer that will change.

I like the thor character but I think it will be a tough sell to the general movie audience. It will almost surely die opening weekend if the word of mouth is bad, just ask 2003 hulk.

That Hulk movie wasn't MARVEL Studios. Besides When the Trailers hit the tv I'm sure people's interest will be peeked.

Really? I can't see how, Thor is getting waaay more promo right now because it comes out in a little more than 1 and 1/2 months.

ok and the point is? Its the same type of situation where you have a superhero type character that not alot of poeple are familiar with a big budget and if it opens to a bad word of mouth IE like the 2003 hulk then it will die quickly. It doesnt matter if it was marvel studios or not, people dont care about the studio when a movie bombs and has bad word of mouth. I havent even seen the movie yet to make a judgement, just going off past movie experiences.

This is a whole different beast than Hulk was.

Most important difference: This is the first summer movie, with two weeks being practically uncontested.

This movie will do just fine, early May is a gold mine these days.

TIH came out in the lull between Iron Man and TDK, that's a rough spot.

Not to mention the first Hulk(2003) trailers/teasers had bad reception, and the movie was doomed when those copies with crappy/unfinished fx leaked. The word of mouth was bad even before the movie was out, unfortunately.

As, BoredGuy said, Thor is a complete different beast.

That's quite a unsual comparison in my opinion as well.

The real problem with HULK is that the last 20 or so minutes are some of the worst scenes ever put to film.

Thor's marketing is difficult because he really isn't a stand out character. It won't really start getting advertisement until TV Spots are released, reviews are out, and people are talking about performances of characters.

I have to disagree, I think Thor is quite a stand out among other superheroes brought to life with live action films.

PERSONALLY I never go by reviews or critics, tho I do like to read reviews because some Critics out there don't do ANY RESEARCH on movies like this and my proof is the FF movie, where a few moron's out there thought MARVEL copied "the Incredibles". Had they TRUELY done their JOB they would have researched the FF and found they'd been around since 1961.
That was ONE reason I began posting heavily on the Hype.

Someone actually thought Fantastic Four copied The Incredibles?

Now that's just flat out ignorant, they should've have even reviewed a film when they obviously know nothing about the source material.

Yeah I don't recall exactly WHO it was but there were more than just one person saying that.
I'd been on the Hype for a long time lurking but THAT was what got me posting.
