I'd been posting off and on, but mostly lurking. Those idiots saying FF were a copy of the Incredibles just hit the wrong cord with me at the time. Then there was these newer FF fans that didn't understand that the Things Brow didn't show up until WAY later and they were copying Kirby's original Thing from the 1st issue.
THEN I began making FF wallpapers. lol

heh Cap, I loved that huge Thing action figure that came out. Maybe it was around a foot and a half tall. I still want that figure!

Im really dissapointed with the marketing to date.
The issue is that I was really excited about this movie last year, but right now I dont care much about it. The trailers havent impressed at all, Im sure the movie will be good, with great moments, both dialogue and action, but the trailers didnt get me excited at all.... and the posters arent that great either. Nice posters, but nothing original. Its kind of sad, with all the potential this character has.

Actually, both trailers are great. The same can be said about the international posters.
The marketing is doing just fine. |

I think we'll see the main push in April. A solid month of marketing should be enough to get people really interested but not make them sick of hearing about it.

If you miss the ET preview I'm sure you'll be able to watch the full trailer on the internet shortly after (similar to Thor's 2nd trailer).

Something else that might hurt our beloved Thor that I didn't realize till now...
The three screen writers working on thor's small body of work consists of agent cody bank and fantastic four 2, along with fringe... |

The GA doesn't care who wrote what. Unless it's mentioned in the trailer (which it isn't), they won't have a clue.

Thats not the point, the point is that the scripts quality might suffer.

The marketing has been fine. At the local theater there's a huge Thor poster with all the man leads, with a huge cardboard Mjolnir sticking out of it. You couldn't help but notice it.
My only worry is that the film comes off as campy. The marketing for the film has been on the humorous side, and certainly the film needs it's moments, but I hope the overall tone of the film is epic. As to the writers, FF2 wasn't a bad script, it was poorly executed by the film makers and edited to hell by Fox. In fact the story line I thought was compelling, but they got caught up in the sensless little things like Richards dancing with some hot girls, rather than the overall imending story, which felt rushed by comparision. If the film focuses on gimicks like Thor getting tasered, breaking coffee cups, and eating pancakes, the film will be a failure. If the film focuses on Loki pulling the strings behind his brother's back, the strained relationship between Odin and Thor, and Thor finding his love for humanity through Foster, then it will be a comic film to remember. |

Wrong. With the exception of those lines in the beginning of the second trailer, there's nothing 'humorous' about Thor. I don't know how people come up with stuff like this. |

Calm down there bud. the commercials especially the most recent one on the hype main page, have been focusing on the humor. "Now that's more like it" type stuff or Thor getting tased. The way the commercial presents it, makes it look campy. The teaser trailer looked very epic, so I hope the film is presented as such.

I keep waiting for some clever Youtuber to do a mashup of Thor getting tased to Revolucians "Don't Tase Me, Bro" Remix. But until then, there's this:

Those TV spots on the main page look awesome...but the dialoge given makes the movie look kinda cheesey. I'm still stoked and due to the tone of the full theatrical trailers but those TV spots have a much different tone. I'm expecting and looking forward to some decent comic relief in this movie...i just hope it doesn't errode/cheapen the main themes of the movie.
It does get the arrogance of Thor down well though

You guys are overreacting to a few tv spots that are designed for children's networks. You can't judge whether the dialogue is cheesy until you see it in context with the whole scene.
How is saying "that's more like it" humorous?
