Default Already in Post-Production?!

I've been reading that the film is now already in Post-Production? If so, that is awesome. They have been filming for a couple of months now.

It's IMDb page says it's in Post. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0948470/

Yes, yes, I know, it's IMDb, but I've never seen IMDb get the "status" part wrong for a film. So is it true, is the film in Post?

If so, we can expect a trailer by this summer most likely!

Now I know you're thinking that it's too soon to be in post, but keep in mind this is the first major film to shoot with the RED Epic camera, which is going to change the way of digital cameras. Its one of the most easiest camera to use. It shoots in great quality, it's small, light. All of this could be why they were able to shoot so fast. They didn't have to worry about the big equipment and tediousness of film cameras.

Yeah, but I've never seen the status part wrong before. I've seen actors wrongly put on there, but I've never seen a film's status wrong. I don't know, I always thought a film's status was always one of the more legitimate things on IMDb.

They're wrapping up filming in a couple weeks. So while the status is wrong at this specific point in time, they are about to be in post-production.

I'm guessing this is legit. I think they are in post or basically close enough to be, which is very, very, exciting guys. We should expect a trailer in no time!

Not every scene of the film has to be done shooting before it can go into Post-Production right?? If an action scene is all done filming and needs FX added to it, it doesn't have to wait for the whole movie to be done before it can start post-production i'm assuming...

They usually start editing a film when it's still shooting...

They must be taking a lot of editing time.

to be honest it makes a lot of sense. every single scene spidey appears in the the effects guys have to isolate the red and blues and then recolourize them. that sounds like a lot of work to me and that's not including special effects.

Wrong! They'll film for two weeks in NYC next month and then they're done.

Post takes a long time, even for movies with no effects. In this case, between now and next summer, they have to finish the LA shoot, do whatever shooting they need in NYC, edit, do effects, color correct (which is a very time-consuming process, especially with something like this), score, test screen, do any possible reshoots, etc. It's not like they're gonna finish shooting and then someone's going to sit down with Final Cut and throw it together in a month. Sony's not making us wait for the fun of it.

Yes, they can start editing before they finish shooting, but usually it works out so they finish production first, then import all the footage, then edit it with the whole studio working on it, as oppose to one part of the studio, which in this case would be. So it could be either way.

and DDRSkata... fyi they'll be using Avid not Final Cut. lol
