Cool, good luck with the book! Do you plan on tabling at any indie comics shows?

Alas, here in Scotland there aren't too many comics shows to be tabling at.

Cool deal. I'll pick it up from one of those as soon as my new debit card gets here.

But the dream won't be complete until Dread writes one of his famous essay-length reviews for my comic.
So, thanks Dread! The review is greatly appreciated!

No problem, dude. Despite being a "Marvel Zombie", I do try to support smaller comics, so long as they catch my interest. I chase Jay Faerber's DYNAMO 5, which sometimes doesn't even sell in the Top 300, after all. My review article got about 78 hits, which is kind of "ugh" compared to news articles, but hopefully a few of those people checked it out. To be fair, the NY hit average is 11 hits, and some review articles average around 50 hits, so on those terms it isn't bad.

I've always had ideas for my own comics, since I was in junior high. I've just been held back by an inability to draw, not being pals with anyone who could, and not having the spare funds/will to get it done. So, I appreciate those who manage to do what I haven't, at least yet.

This is so awesome dude, it really is inspiring to see.

Would asking you some questions about the process be bothering?

Not at all. I don't know how useful my answers would be, as this is my first effort, but feel free to ask away and I'll try to answer as best I can.

78 hits is really good. If even half those people checked the comic out I'd be happy. You deserve to get more eyes on your reviews, though, as they're really well-written.

If you ever get the opportunity/inclination to move ahead with making your own comic, you should totally do it. It's difficult, and at times frustrating, but it's so rewarding.

Keyser, I recommend seeking out fellow creators local to you for feedback and camraderie. Here in Boston there is a that meets up every Thursday (www.bostoncomicsroundtable.com) to talk about making comics. That group just started with one person placing a "make comics? Let's talk about it" ad online and is now up to 100+ members (about 20 or 30 show up any given week.) They have been huge boost in my own comics ambitions.

That's some of the best advice I've seen online in a long time! Very cool idea too!

Yeah, I think being able to network and socialise in person with people with similar interests is important. I've managed to discover that there is quite a vibrant comics scene in Glasgow, and have been going to some outings and the like.

I read The Standard through the site I review for and I absolutely LOVED it!!!!!
My friend James is also a reviewer and he's going to write the review since I'm too busy these days, but he's giving you a good review too (4/5 I believe).
Keep up the good work. If it continues as well as this first issue I'll be happy to help push this comic in every way I can.

(I write for comicsbulletin.com btw, we get some good circulation numbers)

That is cool that your comic is so new and you're getting fanart already.
