He's saying he felt cheated because there wasn't an official comic adaptation of those movies, not about the movies themselves.

Ah, gotcha!

Honestly, I think straight adaptations are a little dull. Not to mention creatively restrictive. Like, why get some really talented, creative film makers onboard a project just to port over some other guy's ideas?

I don't know whether it's direct adaptations of stories from comics to film or comics based on films, but either way it would suck.

I'm reading it as comics based on films, because most superhero movies take inspiration from one or two comic book stories.

The lack of an adaptation comic.

As compared to "I'm a mutant, you're a mutant, let's hook up"?
I'm not defending the execution of their union, but I did like them together.

I'm sure all the mutants reading at home were completely at risk of being offended by the blatant tokenism that is the Scott Summers-Jean Grey romance.

Why do you wanna see crap like that? Cuz Movie adaptations are almost ALWAYS crap. Them not making them anymore is what you'd call progress. Also there was a Man of Steel comic tie in. Think it hinted that Supergirl exists in the new DCMU. (If that's what the Internet plans to call it or whatevs.)

Is Superman and Wonder Woman "I'm white and you're white"...?

No, they're "I'm the most well known male superhero, you're the most well known female superhero..."

It's also an absurd pairing.

Well, as long as it's not a problem with both of them being the same race, like Black Panther and Storm.

Like the vast majority of the new 52's changes, I can't stand Superman and Wonder Woman together.
It's the kind of asinine, lazy decision that someone who's never actually read a comic would come up with if they ever had to try and write one.

Also, I've always thought of their relationship as a kind of brother/sister one. They're close, very similar, but they're just not into each other.
Probably because of that, looking at scenes of them kissing and stuff grosses me out a bit.

Well, actually, the Superman/Wonder Woman pairing has been seen in a lot of Elseworld stories. Kingdom Come, Miller's Dark Knight stuff, and the recent Injustice stuff are good examples, but it's happened in other stories, too. I'm not sure exactly where it started. I think maybe Alan Moore's aborted Twilight of the Superheroes was the first time I can think of (which the whole Trinity War thing seems to be partially inspired by). So, it's not like this is an entirely new concept.

Elseworlds stuff doesn't count. Any old crap can happen in those and overly pedantic, obsessive types like myself don't care because it's not canon. That's like, the whole point of those types of stories.

Actually putting them together in the DCU proper... that's a whole other story. I think, anyways.

I mean, Batman got turned into a vampire in an elseworlds story once. They milked 3 books out of that idea, and it was dumb, 'just roll your eyes and dont think about it too much' fun... do I want that to happen to the canon version? Heh. No.

Well, you said never actually read a comic before, and I was just pointing out that it's actually something that's happened in comics before, even if they weren't canon.

I'm not supporting it either. I think it's as dumb as everyone else, but I've noticed it's something that a lot of writers do when they get the chance.

I thought Superman-Blue and Red was an interesting concept and made for a cool looking poster at my LCS.

I never read one issue starring either of them. Were they even two separate, but identical beings like the Spider-Clones, or were they just projections from the same controlling brain?

One of the greatest Superman feats ever happened during that whole period, so I never really gave a s**t.

Superman Wrestled a damn angel to a stand still. I don't care how he looked at the time.
