TBH both of these posts express thoughts much too straightforwardly and coherently to pass muster as Bendis dialogue.

Ultimate Spidey's one of the few places I could accept Bendis dialogue though...

The Clone Saga was when Ultimate Spidey started to circle the drain for mine... capped off with Magneto-Ock...

There were a few "Ugh" moments throughout, but it was good up until the Clone saga.

Kind of like me, Buffy, and Whedon's dialogue.

It worked because all teenagers everywhere are stammering idiots.

But then he'd write Ultimate Nick Fury or somebody like that and it'd just be stupidtown all over again.

Well he even writes people in the 50s like that.

Also I don't like that he treats people who dare to criticize his work as raging fan boys who shouldn't be paid attention to. You don't need to be a raging fan boy to pick up on his faults, considering the jump right out at you and batter you round the head.

Maybe it's an unpopular opinion or something, but I kinda hate, all dialogue in comics. I was reading 'Civil War' and it's hundreds of off shoots and nearly every issue or tie in issue had no balance between action and dialogue, some chapters were so static and had so much dialogue it was like reading a stage play and it was frickin boring as ****. I understand that if a comic is just pure action you'd read it in like five minutes and it'd be pretty ******, but I do believe there should be more action panels than talking panels.

Depends who is writing i'd say. I could sit there and read Joe Kelly dialogue all day long without illustrations, for instance.

Bendis is to writing in the 2000s what Liefeld was to drawing in the 90s.

That is a bit of an extreme exaggeration. Ten years later, and the first 50 issues of Ultimate Spider-Man still seem to stand the test of time. Ten years later...even one year later, Rob Liefeld's work is pure garbage. The man can't draw. Only people who were children in the 90s, thought Rob Liefeld was awesome. Once you grow up, that perception quickly changes. I was a teenager when I first read Ultimate Spider-Man. Now I am an adult, and it is still relatively well done (at least for the first 50 issues or so).

I'd compare Rob Liefeld with Felica D. Henderson. Now there is someone who, like Liefeld, is without redemption when it comes to their particular "craft" and contribution to this industry. Heck, I'd even give you Jeph Loeb. He can write a fantastic noir Batman, but he needs to stay away from The Incredible Hulk, Superman...adn well...pretty much anyone that isn't Batman.

Well yeah, if it's really dramatic or amusing or whatever it's fine. But all the real life politics and issues crap Marvel just ram into their comics...for some reason...sends me to sleep. I guess that is an unpopular opinion in itself.

Yeah, I think it's no coincedence that Bendis doesn't particularly like Carnage and that that's how the arc turned out...

I don't think the entire book was crap, but that was a lame arc.

His hate seems some what justified. He doesn't like the idea of Spidey being in outer space or on distant planets in far off galaxies. It does not really fit the character. I share the same complaint, so I can see why he tries to downplay the symbiotes.

That reminds me of an opinion I have.

I love it when the X-Men have adventures in space.

I don't mind the X-Men being in space. They aren't classic super heroes. They were never really about "crime" fighting, as much as they are about world saving.

You know who else I like to see in space? The Hulk. Planet Hulk was very rad. World War Hulk, even better (I loved seeing Tony and Reed getting beaten to a pulp). They could keep the character off of earth and I would probably enjoy it more.

Space adventures are an important part of being a superhero.
