What Non Composer Musicians Would You Like to Score a Movie

Last year, we saw Daft Punk score Tron Legacy, Grizzly Bear score Blue Valentine, and Trent Reznor (and Atticus Ross) score the Social Network and even win an Oscar for it. And then the RZA scored Kill Bill.

SO what other non composer musicians would you like to see score a movie?

I'd love to see Slash from Guns and Roses score something. Preferably an epic action movie like an adaption of Gears of War

and I wouldnt mind seeing Just Blaze (hip hop producer) doing a movie either

hikaru utada, slash would be awesome as well, paul mccartney, and the guy from DEVO, mark motherserg or something, he already has done some film scores, and i'd love to hear more from him.

^ Dude yes. They're stuff is already good for film, but a Prodigy composed score would be fantastic.

This is the best trend in Hollywood right now. Screw 3D, this is more like it.

without trying to trivialize or stereotype the musical prowess of the hip hop world, I don't really consider those who use drum machines, samples (often illegally) of other songs, session musicians and ghost writers to be of the same caliber of musicians that are able to actually COMPOSE a film's score. Unless of course, mmmst mmmst and samples are adequate for a score.

*I am aware that there are rappers and hip hop artists/producers who ARE actually musically inclined, and therefore have the ability to actually compose songs, and I do not include them in my line of thinking above.*

But to answer the question of the thread...hmmm....I really liked Clapton's work on the Lethal Weapon trilogy; wouldn't mind seeing more from him. Might be kind of cool to see some Gov't Mule, hell, even Metallica (their instrumental stuff is always really sweet).
