To keep this PG-13, I'm going to let you classify "love" as anything you please (although you probably get the idea). What songs have you felt were really great in love scenes. I was watching Watchmen yesterday and just realize how awful I thought the song selection was for the Owl Ship love scene, so I thought "which ones have I liked". The one that sticks out to me is the song "Comfortably Numb" by Van Morrison (cover for Pink Floyd) used in the DiCaprio/Farmiga love scene in The Departed. I thought it was an interesting, unique and very solid choice for the scene. Really enhanced the mood and atmosphere. There have been other times though they'll use some slow jamz stuff that just really makes the scene cheesey and cringeworthy.
Any thoughts on this. |

"Take My Breath Away" in the Top Gun love scene. Now that was a perfect song for the time and the movie.

the scene with demi moore and swayze in ghost is pretty iconic with the song unchained melodies by The Righteous Brothers.

Eh, it's not in the movie, but I always thought that Frank Zappa song Stick it Out with the german and "Don't get no jizz up on the sofa, sofa" with the sexbot would have worked really well in Blade Runner.

I loved the watchman scene lol. It was so messed up of a choice it amused the hell out of me. Made it surreal.

I thought they way overdid that scene. It's hard to complain when you get to watch Malin Ackerman mimic porn in front of God and everyone, but it was over the top. The comic didn't spend nearly that amount of time on it (erm...panels). The music was a tad overpowering, especially when a simply score would've worked. To each their own though.

the best song is easily "i dont wanna close my eyes" by aerosmith for armageddon..as cheesy as it may be now
the most iconic is a tie between the pottery scene song in ghost and the titanic song.. |

It completely changes the meaning of the scene, which is that Nite Owl can only get it up when he does something heroic. I'm gonna go with take my breath away from Top Gun. |
