Can't do Manips, but here's an idea of what they will look like together

Nicest Supes manip I've ever seen. I'd be ecstatic if this was the design used.

It's nice, but the belt is not as great as it could be. I also prefer the \s/ to be more wide than it is tall when they go for a big one.

Could be tweaked, ChickenScratch...I agree with the belt. Still, I love the darker blue used and the gold accents on the boots and around the \S/. The suit's seams are functional and the cape is attached properly around the shoulders/neck.

This is the closest manip that I've seen that also matches Snyder's darker, high-contrast visual style.

Pretty nice, the belt needs to be tweaked a little though.

So then I say... I what is the reason that designers put holes in jeans or fade them out? Why did they put stripes on that white shirt in your closet? Why does that watch have a leather band instead of the metal one? Why do girls put on eye shadow? There's really no reason other than They just think it looks good. Supermans suit has no functionality at all. Whether it was made by Martha or the fortress, its just aesthetics really. Honestly, I wonder why more people don't ask, "Why does he wear a belt? He has on tights. What's it holding up?". Me personally I like the original suit and would prefer a Jim Lee style. Kind of like the suit in question. However, I also like the stripes because it breaks up the monotony of the blue. In the books the illustrator uses at lot of shadow on the suit. But it can be overwhelming on screen at times. For me that is. Differents strokes for different folks.
I get what you mean... But if that's all it is, I'd be just as pissed if someone all of a sudden decided to put lines on my hanes white t-shirts or boxers.... I'd be a little baffled and miffed at them for it...

Change the suit too much, and it ends up looking like an Elseworlds version of Superman. A good example of how to make minor changes to the costume and stay faithful to the classic look is this:

I disagree... The Earth One suit is a pefect example, IMO, of messing with the suit just a little too much. Changing things for no reason and not making any sort of improvement to the suit... Just making it different, though not having the balls to change it...

I'm starting to get used to the thought of her busting her way onto a news scene.

i hope not....i dislike the Earth One suit. the changes and additions done to the Earth One suit are very generic, imo, and the "S" looks warped.

I don't like the sharp point on the boots, the yellow line around the shield, the size of a shield, the way the cape is pinned on and not tucked...

A few months ago I had a really clear idea of how I'd like Cavill to look like as Superman.
I started with this picture (found it on this board few months ago but I can't remember who did it):

http://img846.imageshack.us/img846/1710/34023062.jpg

Though I can remember it borrows a few elements from JMC's concepts (especially the elegant and smart way he found to get ride of the pants while keeping the feeling of Superman's original suit). I also used the "shoulder cape" idea from a bunk's drawing.

Here's how it ended up looking after a lot of alterations:

Cape from Shiskababe (http://shiskababe.deviantart.com/) and an Alex Ross painting from Capedwonder.

The hair looks great

the stubble is out of place

the suit just looks bad

Amazing Manip dude =]
I like the suit idea but I dont think it needs to deviate so much from the normal costume. Cool though.

What kind of program do you use to edit and such?
