Your not looking forward to seeing how this character could be handled in this manner?

No, we already know how an aquatic character would be handled in this manner: Namor.

Granted, it looks like Flashpoint's Aquaman is a bit more extreme than Namor. So let's call him "More Namor than Namor."

I guess that is true but Aquaman has been in a rut with the geek culture he needs a little display of power right now so intrest will get higher, plus its an alternate universe. WHo cares.

Exactly. I'm not saying More Namor than Namor is going to suck or anything, I'm just saying I'm not interested. Alternate universe that'll be swept under the rug in no time. I'm much more concerned with the ongoing Aquaman stuff we're gonna see afterward.

Too many mentions of Speedo the Angry Sea-Elf is making me sad. Angry Aquaman is different. He'll be faithful in his sham marriage I hope.

People on CBM consider Family Guy jokes proof that he's lame.

Well, hopefully Johns can turn that perception around by sheer force of name recognition or however the f*** he gets things to sell. Then someone good can pick up after he leaves and make Aquaman genuinely awesome again.

Again? There was a moment Aquaman wasn't awesome?

It seems Johns is thriving with Aquaman's environmental + animal friendly attitude while also showing authority as he rules 70% of the world. We'll also see new sea cities and civilizations and obviously different cthulu and fish/dragon/monster races and whatnot.

Brightest Day had abit of the responsibility with Aquaman and Mera fixing the oil leak, then we got the usual whale hunters and pirates with child slaves and whatnot whatnot.

Well, we'll see. Johns hasn't done the main part of his bit so far. Wink, wink, nudge nudge.

Nah, he's always awesome. Except for the squiddy phase. I don't know what Busiek was thinking there.

Isn't Aquaman supposed to be married to Wonder Woman in Flashpoint?

We don't know, yet. Some are speculating that the corpse Aquahitler has is actually Diana's mother, and the marriage in reference was between her and Aquahitler, not Diana. And that's why Diana's so mad.

If that's not the case, and he is married to Diana, well it obviously isn't ****ing working out.

Yes Aquaman is the best Aquaman title.

Honestly his last series was really damn good but I don't think any trades were released apart from the Waterbearer.

Thanks, guys. From the little that I know about Aquaman, it seems like there's been a few different iterations of the character so I didn't know where to start. Also, the whole Aquaman bashing is getting way too old IMO.

More details on the Flashpoint Aquaman, enrageous!:
Quote:
Who in the world of FLASHPOINT is your favorite character to work on? What surprise character will have fans talking?
Tony Bedard: He’s such a cool alternate version of himself, but what may surprise readers is that in many ways this tyrant Aquaman illuminates the character of our Aquaman. In other words, this militant, murderous Aquaman will make you appreciate the real Aquaman all the more.

FLASHPOINT is an international adventure with a huge cast of characters and a lot of action, but it’s also, at its heart, a collection of very personal stories. What can you say about the personal conflict that drives the series you are working on?

Tony Bedard: Aquaman was once going to marry Wonder Woman. Now he has a very personal score to settle with her. Any love he once felt for her has completely turned to hatred, and if he has to kill millions to get her, then so be it.

Flashpoint Aquaman sounds like a total jerky jerk

I loves the real one but doubt I will be buying the Flashpoint mini
