Owls was good. Probably his best piece of filmmaking overall IMO.

I have enjoyed Snyders' movies overall....except for Sucker Punch. If he and the Japanese guy he wrote it with would have focused more on developing the story more, it could have been far better.

All Snyder needs to do is execute the plan they have for this next Superman film and not flip the script to his own liking, because that won't fly with WB's or Nolan.

No doubt. I don't want a mindless action movie, just not a borefest.

so far snyder is the weakest link in the project. personally i was meh on dawn of the dead, hated 300 (mostly because of slo-mo and i don't like gerard butler), was disappointed by watchmen even though it was very faithful and had a lot to love about it. and i just skipped out on the next 2 because his name was attached.

am i the only one concerned? frankly my hope is kevin costner really takes up a codirector role. open range is one of my favorite westerns.

They should replace the character names with Sioux Indians ones....like "Spells Like A Chimp" for Lois...."Whining Bear" for Perry......"Head Like A Cueball" for Luthor...."Stammers A Lot" for Jimmy....

The problem with Sucker Punch is not with Snyder but with the Editor and WB. The movie was filmed with an R rating in mind and powers above Snyder wanted a PG 13 movie.
But it doesnt matter to the masses as people are looking for any excuse to attribute the good news of this movie to Nolan and the bad to Snyder.

So what your saying is that some blood, boobs, and cursing is what wouldve made that movie loved by everyone instead of hated?

I for one never understood why a lot of people wanted Snyder for this role, I mean he made two "ok" superhero movies then all of a sudden he was treated as the go to guy for them.

No convincing emotion in Watchmen? Did they just forget every single scene Rorschach was in?

Nah it was pretty great. But that wasn't the claim. He said "no convincing emotion", which is false.

I think these people that say he's all flash and no substance just can't see the substance because they're distracted by the flash.

It's just that it (emotion/substance) had to be pried out of Watchmen, instead of inviting the viewer to absorb it. But a large number of viewers either weren't prepared (by knowing the comic) or willing (not knowing the comic) to exert themselves in that way while watching. For those who were, I'm sure it was good. 300 was a smoother dose to take in that respect, albeit less complex.
