Nolan has more or less "shepard" MOS in the early stage, and he may even stick around as producer for the Batman reboot in 3 years or so, but he's a director and not a film producer, and certainly not the head of DC Entertainment division. He started his roots in indie and I think he'll have to go back to smaller films eventually; I just can't see him taking on a permanent role overseeing DC superhero movies.

With the MCU and Avengers alone proving successful..WB need to go a head with an JLA film,Batman will get rebooted soon after TDKR and so they could use that one to connect to a new shared universe,Nolan will be a producer for that Bat film But ***** what he thinks about not having a shared universe!!!

I just hope they get people behind the JL that actually want to do it, not just make a quick buck. Joss Whedon did an amazing job with The Avengers. It could have easily turned out bad, but it was quite epic.
I'd still like to see Bale as Batman in it and try and keep the actors they have had in the films already, but I don't know how possible that is. I also hope it's not overly serious. Avengers had a great comedic element to it and it worked well. That is to say, if they decide to make a JL film.

I know Nolan's take on it, but has Bale ever voiced opinion on participating in a shared universe movie?

I just hope a JLA film would not be turned into an ultra dark&gritty film with"realism",Avengers had the fantasy element from the comics and I think JLA would need it too!!

As far as I know he's only interested if Nolan is involved.

Well, I'm sure WB could do $omething about that...

I agree. I'd actually like it to be similar to the JL animated series in a lot of ways.

what's so bad dark and gritty realism? i mean, I'd have an issue if what they did was turn GL into some regular cop or superman into some body builder, but the circumstances in which these teams assemble are dark and difficult ones. its supposed to be dark, gritty on a "**** just got real" level.

Justice League could be the opposite of The Avengers, in a certain way.
The Avengers has a otherworldly villain powered by "magic" that leads an all-out alien invasion against Earth. Justice League could have a human villain, Maxwell Lord, powered by technology, that is conducting a secret "invasion" on Earth through the OMAC nanotechnological virus. Perhaps, they could introduce Checkmate, using the government as an enemy rather than an ally, or even have someone like Starro or Desaad assisting Lord, which could lead to the sequel featuring White Martians or Darkseid. |

But...But... I wanna see Darkseid.
![]() I wouldn't mind it being darker than The Avengers, just not through the whole film. I don't want to sit there being depressed through all of it.

What is stopping WB from using Joss Wheadon? A contract most likely, but I would wait a couple of years for a Joss Wheadon JL movie.

Never. Also, forget Batman. The Nolan fans would never allow Captain Pretentious to rub shoulders with Mr. All That Stuff

Here's the thing. Some people didn't just get together and say "let's make an Avenger's movie". You can't just make a live action Justice League movie. Well, you could, but it would be a huge gamble.
The Avengers worked because Marvel had already successfully executed live action Iron Man, Hulk, Thor, and Captain America films. DC has only been successful at Batman and Superman (though Returns underperformed). Before they can make a Justice League movie with any confidence, they need to make a few solo movies that work. Avengers wouldn't have had the marketing it has now if Marvel hadn't made successful individual films. Could there have been a successful unrelated Avengers movie? Probably, but it wouldn't be the same. |

Marvel did make the solo films with an eye towards doing an Avengers film sometime in the near future, though. That's why they added the Nick Fury cameo at the end of Iron Man. If DC/WB really wanted to create a shared universe ala the MCU, they could. All it would take is some planning ahead and maintaining at least a somewhat cohesive creative bent on every picture leading up to the Justice League.
Or they could do the opposite of what Marvel/Disney did and do a Justice League movie first, then spin the characters off into solo movies. But that would probably be riskier.

There is an insightful article on BOM as to how TA's success is not an accident. Marvel has been building to this for years with a clear vision/plan.
The results are insane. It's looking like a record breaking 180 million opening weekend. Projections now are that TA could reach 1.2 billion when it's run is over. I think TA will probably easily beat TDKR at the BO this summer. The message to WB is clear IMO. Don't react and rush into doing JL. No plan guarantees a potential disaster for a JL film done this way. In one weekend TA will make almost as much as SR in it's full run and way more than GL. That is a message WB needs to think long and hard about. WB needs to totally re-evaluate it's DC properties and how they should be handled. |

WB already has it's 'Avengers.'
It's Batman. It made a billion worldwide. Round One of The Avengers VS Batman is this summer. Round Two could very well be in 2015, with The Avengers II going up against the next Batman. |

I don't think WB should rush out a half assed attempt at a Justice League movie just because Disney made a successful Avengers movie.
Judging by what Armie Hammer said about the Justice League Mortal film its lucky it didn't happen. Hammer himself said he wasn't ready at the time to take on the role of Batman and his glad the project didn't work out now. The budget was $300 million and people were tossing money around being really extravagant so that probably would of ballooned the budget up even more. Not surprised WB pulled the plug. If WB is going to do a Justice League movie they got to do it right. Get a god script, good cast and a good director who knows what there doing and has a vision.

OTOH, those are two separate questions: what WB *should* do, and what they *will* do. If Avengers breaks a billion? I think WB will rush out a JLA movie by 2015, maybe even earlier. And it will be awful.

^ The Dark Knight Rises is expected to make roughly the same numbers as The Avengers. And even if they decide to have Justice League. There's nothing to say that it'll be awful. We don't know their plans.
And Justice League doesn't "need" individual movies to be good. Superman and Batman are in it, and they're famous enough to attract the public. Wonder Woman, Flash and Green Lantern could easily be introduced in the movie, though I wouldn't mind another Green Lantern and The Flash. Marvel Studios' model is excellent, but it isn't the only possible way that movies about a team of superheroes can be done. |

Spidey 2 is set for 2015 also. Have they picked a specific date. Given that 2015 is out there is no way they can do a JL film in 2014 at this late date. Given everything would have to be done from scratch. Which is good. Rushing JL will turn into a disaster for WB. GL was a reaction to IronMan's success and look what happened. |
