That's what the leaked page from SLJ's script was about. And that's what I thought the shot was from, too

He always looks angry. Even when he's saving Iron Man's life, or standing back-to-back with his bros-in-arms in !!! XTREME !!! ACTION !!! POSE !!!

If Hulk was trying to kill Widow, he'd be doing a much better job of it. She'd already be splattered all over the pavement and Nick Fury would be scraping her remains up with a Jet-Vac.

But as I said in the other thread, the Leviathan one (kind of a simultaneous carrying-on of this same conversation, so forgive me if I start confusing myself), Banner and Black Widow are a hot item, and it makes sense that he'd be trying to help her instead of hurt her. *Especially* her.

Or: maybe not.

I'm not going to spoilerific this, because this is speculation based on rumors, but this is the way I've come to understand this whole scene unfolding:

Loki is imprisoned on the Helicarrier. He's allowed himself to be "caught," of course, just so he can get closer to the Cube. Eventually, he finds the Cube, commandeers it, and busts his way out of the Helicarrier. Along the way, he mind-rapes Hawkeye and uses him as his minion, and Hawkeye helps Loki escape. This is why Widow looks so hurt and shocked in the scene: she's been betrayed by her closest friend. And now Widow is hurt in the action, and Banner isn't happy about it. You wouldn't like him when he's not happy about somebody messin' with his girl. Voila: the hulk-out, and he shields Widow's escape to safety.

Or hey, another way to look at it: Widow is actually *leading* Hulk, and Hulk is following her as they pursue Loki and Hawkeye.

Anne and Scarlette should have a cat fight (or rather, a cat-and-spider fight).

I don't understand why people weren't more impressed with her from the start. She was great in The Island, so I had no problem seeing her kick butt in this movie.

She was great in Lost in Translation and Match Point. But she can be hit-or-miss. She was pretty wooden in The Other Boleyn Girl and seemed uncomfortable in Scoop (which was odd considering it was her reteaming with Woody, but they made up for it with Vicky, Christina, Barcelona).

Most fans know her solely for The Island and IM2, but she had absolutely nothing to do in those scripts, so I don't blame her blank performances. She was there to look good and nothing else, though in IM2 she at least had a very slick action scene that Faves gave a little more style than usual too. Hopefully, TA will be her finally showing in a blockbuster how great she has been in her indies over the years.

Lost in Translation was her best work and it's a shame she hasn't really been able to hit that mark again although what I've seen of her in The Avengers certainly seems like that genuine emoting has returned for this film.

She would look panicked either way. If he's shielding her, she's panicking from whatever he's shielding her from.

IMO Scarlet Johansson is so much better looking than Anne Hathaway.

No offense to Dark Raven, but that avy creeps the hell out of me. The thought of Hathaway disrobing in front of me shrivels every part of my anatomy.

Brrrrrrrr.

Really? I think Hathaway looks absolutely stunning.

That pic Dark Raven posted of both of these beauties just got right clicked and saved.

Yeah Anne Hathaway is very pretty, she's just has a serious lack of curves and I've never been a big fan of thin women.

To me she was great in Lost in Translation, as well as in Girl with a Pearl Earring.

I prefer her in Scoop, I thought she was well reasonable in Vicky, Cristina, Barcelona, the highlights in this film for me were Penelope Cruz, Javier Bardem, Rebecca Hall, so it was they who competed to us large awards, but Penelope Cruz being the highlight, she won the Oscar for this role.

I think both in The Island, as in IM2, the script did not help, she was just an eyewash. Ultimately, I think anyone can criticize her for these roles, because as I said, she it was only an eyewash, this was the mark of his characters in these movies.
