Ha same here, and I think it would be awesome if there was a blur effect.

It would be fine as long as its not overdone..

for instance, I'd like to see a throw away villain, maybe just a thug, holding the city ransom. He has placed a bomb somewhere in the city. He has demands and hostages, and, his finger is on the detonator.

Superman hovers overhead, using his x-ray vision to frantically search the city for the bomb. The cops stall the thug, trying to give supes time to search.

The man grows impatient and presses the trigger. Supes hears the subtle sound of it as its clicked.

He hears the bomb respond to the signal. He looks in the direction of the sound and sees that its in a crowded mall thats over 10 miles away. The device starts to hmmmm.

Supes rockets off. Everything becomes a blur all around him. He himself becomes a blue and red streak. The bomb starts to detonate. Supes has less than a half second to stop it.
He pushes himself even harder. all sounds disappear, and different colors streak past him..

( all done in superspeed ) He arrives, yanks his cape off, and wraps it tight around the ( now exploding ) football sized bomb. It explodes harmlessly inside his cape.

I personally love when he's flying so fast that his cape looks like one long red line...

I don't mind seeing a blur, as long as Snyder films it in a way that has never been seen on screen before. And since that happens to be his forte, I'm sure we'll get a few of them.
I just don't like seeing the word "blur" in context with anything concerning Man of Steel; I just get these horrible images in my head of Cavil wearing a blue t-shirt and a red jacket speeding around saving people, and I don't like it; I've had enough of that!

Good question, I can't recall that he did.

I thought you meant the Smallville identity and not the Smallville "WHOOSH" effect. To answer yes I would like to see it, one of the few things Smallville did right regarding power development.

He only flew fast.

Hmmmm....I would think it would be OK if he is flying past a fixed camera angle, as that is what the viewer would expect to see, and would translate in that shot to Speeeeeed.....but given that most shots(I hope) would pan or travel with him, it is a blurred background that would emphasize speed.

The original poster should change that part of the title to "motion blur", "motion blur effect", "streak" or "whoosh", as I bet there's not one person who clicked on here who didn't think it referred to the Smallville Blur identity.

And yes, I think it would look great. In Star Trek, whenever the ship went to warp, it usually had that streak. It just adds to the excitement and feeling that Superman is travelling extremely fast.

That Blur I thought you were referring to Superman. To be honest this is Snyder he loves style I have no doubt we'll get this.

lol.........that's what I thought, too.

and yes, I do think there should be some kind of super speed blur effect.

I'd especially love to see it while Superman is flying.

That's been corrected.
