Yes, watching Superman The Movie again, Cooper is great in the scene where he is talking to the journalists in his office after Superman makes his first appearance.

I may be wrong, but I think he was the last living ''our gang'' member as well ( aka the little rascals )

I was just thinking. Do you think it's possible that ZOD is actually not the main villain at all and they still plan to include Brainiac? Maybe they're keeping that casting a secret right up until they start shooting to keep people from speculating about the plot and what-not.
I guess we wont know until that official synopsis pops up. |

I saw Thor last night and was blown away.
Sure the story was simplistic and predictable at every turn, but the CGI, casting, 3D, etc. made it a very worthwhile experience. It was the first time I see so much CGI and not feel like I'm in a video game or watching a cartoon. Thor proved to me that you can do really unrealistic stuff and make it look good Krypton better outdo Asgard and the other mythical realms in Thor. Prior to Thor, I thought the traditional Superman costume should have been replaced with something more realistic and contemporary. But now, I think it would blow me away (and everyone one else too) to behold Superman in his traditional costume, red underwear and all, in the splendor of 3D. If they could make Thor work....imagine what they can do with Superman. I hope Snyder doesn't disappoint and I don't think he will as his career is as good as Brandon Routh's, if Man of Steel isn't mind blowing. The bar has been raised a notch. |

I personally think THOR is overrated with all the hype it's now getting. Also I wasnt blown away by the visuals. Asgard, Jotunheim and especially the costumes still look a bit off. Prop-like. And again personally, I was hoping for a grittier THOR, more in the vein of LOTR and less Masters of the Universe.
But it did have some action-sequences that made me feel like cheering. SPOILERES!!! THOR defeating the beserker-thing and the Destroyer doing the excorcism-thing with Siff on it's back. And Hiddleston pretty much owned the movie. |

I would like Thor to be grittier as well. He should go through more physically and if they make a sequel, there should be more danger and more at stake, and include Earth- and Jane- in that more.

here's the official statement from DC on what they had to say about the story:
"This short story is just that, it will not be followed up upon. Superman will remain as American as Apple pie."

Rednecks got their way it seems.
"HERP DERP, WE INVENTED ALL THOSE VALUES, WE ARE THEIR KEEPERS, AND WE WILL BOMB YOU ALL TO FORCE THEM UPON YOU. AMERICA **** YEAH!" Nevermind that all those values started in Europe, have been around for millenia, and that Superman actually is a global hero in the DC Universe bar that stupid catchphrase of his. As if all the people whining about it were actually reading the comics... |

Who the hell cares if Superman gives up his citizenship? Most people in the comics don't even know he grew up in America. It was just given to him anyway, It's not like he took a citizenship test. From a story standpoint it didn't matter, but Superman is seen as an American icon, so I knew this would happen. Seems like it was blown out of proportion to me.

He will always be an american icon regardless of his citizenship. Some people are too stubborn to realise that they can share him with the world without losing anything.
"But then what does he stand for? Swiss neutrality, or British this, or French that?" He stands for what's right and decent, for the whole of humanity. Jesus Christ! |

Is that backtracking? It's more... Explaining something you were already doing.

I hope the film doesn't involve this issue. There could be major backlash.
