Hulk Vs Thor - The Movie Edition

Well, we have now seen Thor in action so we have some idea of how powerful both movie versions of the characters are...they have said they will fight in Avengers...so who do you think would win?

Now typically Thor in the books gets shafted by the writers (he should beat the Hulk...I'm a Hulk fan and I know that), but in Thor's movie we saw him fight using brains as well as brawn, something he tends to leave at home when fighting the Hulk in the books.

For me movie Hulk seems a lot stronger physically (though we didn't really see movie Thor doing that much without the hammer beyond tossing that big table) however the hammer and the skills/abilities we have seen that come with it (Frost Giants battle, Destroyer and a very simple but clever use against Loki) should give him the edge.

How they handle the face off in the Avengers film....Would like it if they do make Hulk clearly the stronger, and Thor does use his skills to level it up or overcome the Hulk. Though they may well leave it vague with no clear winner (fight gets broken up or someone else joins in to help end it).

Well as loki said.. Thor couldve taken on all of the frost giants with his bare hands. Thor wins. Hulk should definately be stronger though

My belief is Loki will possess the Hulk, just like Selvig, and Thor will make his entrance in a big way by arriving to perform the exorcism with a thunderbolt after a nice punch-up, when the other Avengers have been struggling.

As long as Thor has Mjolnir, he'll be able to dish out a nice ass-kicking to Hulk.

Thor does not need Mjolnir to fight the Hulk, I only want both of them to be clearly above everyone else on the Team

I bet that Thor's and HUlk's storylines will find and understanding in their similar storyline. I feel that Thor and Hulk both work or do what they do for the women they love. Yeah of course they do wanna stop Loki but I bet throughout the movie they'll be pinning to return to Betty and Jane

The Hulk has never fought anyone like Thor before in the movies...the closest being Abomination. A blast of lightening might just build the Hulks strength even more.

Thor is incredibly strong and has far superior fighting skills, so he should have the upper hand at the start of the battle. But the madder the Hulk gets, the stronger the Hulk gets.

It should end in a stalemate.

I would be perfectly satisfied with this outcome, even as a Thor fan.

To be fair, Hulk doesn't fight folks in his strength class to often. The Abomination was trained soldier but still lost in the end. Honestly I think any being that thinks a car makes good boxing gloves is someone that should not be underestimated.

^ Let's not forget that Thor laid Hulk out with a single lightning bolt before, oh and that second set of scans in "canon".

Hulk pretty much kicks Thor's ass whenever they appear in animation so you would think Hulk fans would be statisfied, but no, that's not enough for them.

This isn't about satisfaction; someone said that as long as Thor has Mjolnir, he kicks the Hulk's ass, so I posted a couple scans that showed the contrary.
(And last I checked, the last scan was canon, but I haven't checked recently, so Marvel could very well have said it is now not in-continuity.)

Listen, this isn't a competition or a rivalry; Thor and the Hulk are going to be on the same team. And that's great! I view Hulk and Thor in an "Any given Sunday" type scenario; whenever you've got guys that powerful fighting each other, either one of them could get a win at any time.
Sure, The Avengers movie will probably have the heroes clash (in classic Marvel manner), but in the end, we're going to see The Mighty Thor and The Incredible Hulk fighting side-by-side against some poor saps! How awesome is that gonna be?!

Agreeing with Art Teacher. So much power is held by both that any crazy x-factor could result in either one winning.

Most likely whatever fight they have will be broken up anyway, and that's how I'd want it to happen...they're both good guys after all. But it should also be made clear that Thor has never fought anyone as powerful as Hulk and vice versa. I'd like for both to be absolutley surprised and astonished at the other's power.

I agree with Teacher and Hoblin, either could win a battle.

What's makes me tickled is when some don't think Hulk should stand a chance. Hulk's entire comic history is based on him smashing things that appear to be greater than him. And Hulk has decisively more clear cut wins over Thor than the other way around.

well if we go by the box office, so far thor seems pretty popular so maybe marvel will reconsider having the hulk beat up on thor this time around. we might actually get to see thor kicking some hulk ass. we see how they are treating iron man nowadays, maybe thor will get this love too.

Obviously that won't be how it is in the movies, just saying.
