Jason Issacs could be awesome... The only drawback is that he's played a villain like ten billion times... But I guess if the shoe fits, right?

Yeah, i doesn't mean he can't do something new and exciting with it. After all, Mark Strong has played a billion a zillion times and plenty of us are excited to see him play Sinestro. (And I know Sinestro is still "good" in GL, but we all know where his character is headed).

I've never seen Isaacs in anything, but he definitely looks like an awesome Luthor.

Isaacs is cool no doubt, but also a bit of an uninspiring choice if you ask me. He almost always plays villains, so seing him pop up on the screen would be a dead give-away for the character. Too predictable in other words.
He's also a bit too old, no?

I certainly dont want an actor who already has a "villain-label" on him. The other way around would be much more intersting.

There's been quite a delay in announcement. I wonder what gives?

The movie is a year and a half away and we already know 6 of the actors and their characters. I'd say we're doing fairly well.

I'd guess they're just stretching announcements throughout the summer. We'll probably get one soon, Luthor or not.

Maybe they are waiting on Billy Zane to finish his duties on his next straight to DVD blockbuster.

I've got Zane under contract to walk my dogs for the next few months, so he can't play Lex.

Wait, I know...

Since Hardy's not available, and I wanted him, how about his dobbelganger, Logan Marshall-Green? Totally looks like Hardy and can act. He's in Scott's PROMETHEUS, so I'm guessing he can act well.

I can see how it might be confusing and people thinking it's the same actor and complaining about it. I hadnt thought it through obviously, but Green would still be an interesting suggestion.

Dang, he does look like Hardy. I have no opinion, I am not familiar with his work.

never seen his work, but i wouldn't want a Hardy clone. Hardy is a special type of actor, and while i haven't seen this guy's work...i can't imagine that he's as intense of an actor. on top of that, Hardy can pull of Lex's look ridiculously well...but this guy doesn't look like he could be a powerful business man.

Hardy is a better actor than this guy. I've hated this guy in every performance I've seen him in...I think we could find a better actor for Lex. If he's in it anyway..

Guys, keep in mind, he's suggesting this actor without even seeing him act in anything.

Here we go again... just like the final months of Superman casting. Remember that?

"Who is that guy?"

"I don't know but might as well give him a screentest."

Hey, it don't matter.
As long as there's a picture of him from one time or another that shows him with a bald head, he deserves a shot!
If he has "the look", he would probably do well in the role.

Not my first choice but has anyone ever suggested Christoph Waltz? From Inglorious Bastards?

Waltz would be brilliant.

I'd suggest Sean Penn if he didn't look like Gene Hackman's doppelganger.
