You do know he covered the U.S. premiere of Thor right?

I'm pretty sure he's spoken with a few of the big wigs of Marvel Studios concerning the part, he was going on and on about it during the coverage.

What's a "real" actor? If you mean a more established actor that's fine, but a real actor is very ambiguous. As long as he is committed than it doesn't matter. Plus he has built a likability and familiarity with the public/fans. Not saying he will get the part because of this, but it can help. Take Hemsworth for example. After Star Trek he really got notice, and was just in it for 10 mins, but his character and the emotions he poured into the role paid off. That wasn't the only thing that got him the part in Thor and may not have had anything to do with it, but after Star Trek people began to take notice and because of that open doors to audition and put his name out there.

As far as Luke Cage goes, at this point, I don't care. I don't know enough about the character and given the climate of superhero movies and the direction filmmakers/studios are going I can see almost any black actor getting the role.

Oh and as far as having wrestlers play superheroes, I'm for it as long as they can act and play the role. The Rock as Teth Adam has my vote, and I think HHH would make a good THOR Sci-fi movie or something along the lines of Conan.

You really think a director is going to take that into account and the bigwigs would circumvent a directors vision? If that were the case is say that production is in trouble.

Any body has a chance. Heck they might make him Mexican. Luke Cage-suelos. Who's to say......As long as he is serious in the role then I'm cool with it.

Isaiah Mustafa has been acting since 2006 and did a very good job in the last Madea movie

Are you serious? Oh my god.... Thank you christ. There is actually a comic god. (Other than Stan Lee)

Also no way to Mustafa as Luke Cage. I remember his comments, and it was essentially that he WANTS to play Luke Cage and he was really keen on it. That doesn't mean he has a 'VERY' strong chance at all. If Elba has been talking to Marvel about it, he is miles ahead of Mustafa since he's already proven himself not only in one big, Marvel film but in many, many dramatic series. I flagged him for Luke Cage the moment I saw him as Stringer Bell, and I even thought he'd be a great T'Challa when I saw him in Luther. Sure Mustafa is talented, but he has done nothing anywhere remotely near the level of intensive dramatic acting that Elba has done.

I mainly mean someone who has demonstrated great acting talent before, not really "established" in the sense of having a lot of experience.

Your right, he COULD be a good actor though, iv'e just seen no evidence of it and he just doesn't seem to have the "gravitas" that Cage should have so I say nay. I could be wrong, I just don't see it.

Your right, HHH would make a good "Syfy" movie Thor. That should tell you all you need to know, which is exactly my point, its a terrible idea for a "good" theatrical movie. Marvel has moved beyond that now.

Luke Cage would really need someone with depth and integrity because otherwise the movie would have a serious risk of being stereotypical. I find he's already a character in the comics who crosses a fine line between being authentic and ridiculous.

Agreed. Whether its Elba or whomever, they need to have that same "Gravitas" and presence. After a few lines you need to be like, " oh **** thats a bad*** dude".

....right NOW it does.....I'm sure Thor will be back....again.

Thing to do is compare the Fast franchise's FIRST film to Thor's when Thor's finished in the theaters.
